My dads last name is Mason, and I believe his grandmothers last name was micoby, but a few years ago a man approched me and told me he was my grandpa and his name was Merrick Whiteman but thats all I know .

There happens to be alot of Mihcoby's around here. The best time to find them is when we have our annual powwow in Walters. Everybody comes home for that one.

Moonlight Mile 49

Naw, that aint even near a REAL 49. If you were able to make it to a 49 at Moonlight Mile and sang with the likes of Joe Fish, Larry Cozad & Bros., & Millard Clark now thats how a for real 49 should be. Just singing for 4-5 hours straight!

At Walters it is about the singing. I am talking 3 to 4 rows deep. Always have too much fun. Dang July needs to hurry up and get here.

FO SO! I meant back in the day the 49s there were jammin' I dont think too many guys know how to start a 49 song much less sing different ones all night long!

I agree Homecoming does have a pretty good 49 with all the singing. I'll be there fo so @ the drum.

Back in the late "80's", I never missed the Indian Fair. I remember, there would be two or three drums going at the same time. When that week was over, that's all I could hear in my head was Kiowa slang and "49" music, over and over, for about two weeks. It was alot of fun. Ahhhh! "The good ole days."
