      Charlene,

Welcome to pws.com. And welcome to the Oklahoma thread. Since you have been out of the loop for awhile, you will find there are many Okies on line who are still hittin' it hard!

Feel free to ask any questions and I guarantee someone will answer!

      Can you still say "ayyyye?"
Powwows will continue to evolve in many directions. It is inevitable.

            Mz,

You mean the "Festival" , . . ."largest event of it's kind?"

No. but I'll be at the 49!!!! *L

I had a rabbit race my neighbors cat in the backyard. Some neighborhood kids came to see the speciticle. It was an event that was the "largest event of it's kind!" *L

Lively? I think you could say just a little.

                Heck Wazhahz,

Neither made it to the finish line!!!!

I left out some important details about this largest event of its kind. . .

                the little neighorhood kids.

                You see,

                They were Indian kids and,

                being Indian kids,

They distracted the contestants off course by throwing rocks and dirt bombs at the racers!

                • WhoMe, LOL @ the results of the race...
I understand, Indian Kids grow up hearing the phrase,
                  "Go Play", all the time.
I know I did. And, you probably did too. Just like everyone
else. So it's understandable. They were only doing what they were told to do.
At the time, you probably didn't realize it but, you helped them to do just that. Too funny!

                      Thanks wa zahz,

I have a good group of singers for tonight at True Loves. One of them you know (Lead singer for Osage Nation Drum when we sang at Red Earth? *L)

Also, here's wishing all the Osages and their guests a successful weekend at Gray Horse!!!!

I had dinner with Paul G and his wife last night. He is a really good person. His heart is in the right place!

                      • WhoMe, where did find that guy? Tell him for me, that if he can make it this year, to get up here. I never see him anymore. It's like, I might as well just forget about him. Tell him, I'm wanting to get a singing group together. We've got some new guns up this way! We're fixing to break-out this summer. He would make us complete. But, I know him, he'll just laugh. Oh well, anyway, much success this week-end! I would show up there but, I've got to get in shape. You know what I mean.

Originally, I had posted that they were the first three week-ends in June. That information was wrong. There's nothing the second week-end in June. I apologize for any inconvience.(dang...shame) I sit right beside Angela S. this morning at the Pawhuska War Dance Committee breakfast and she told me that she was going to "Black Leggings Ceremonial" today. And, I was telling her about you. So, when you see her, you might let her know, you are Nativemah on PowWows.com.
Hey wa-zha-zhe! I saw Angela at Blackleggings and she told me yall were talking about PowWows.com. She thought that was the funniest thing that she knew both of us but you and I have met here. We had a good time singing and dancing at Indian City USA and bay-gaw! I did get some blackleggings of my own from walking up and down the hill to the arena--aye!
I'm still gonna try and make it to Hominy unless I get this new job this summer. Man, that's gonna mess up my powwowing but oh well I need the moolah! Later!
