Hittin' the water..

We are going camping at Kaw Lake and will be doing some boating, camping, cooking, and hanging out with friends and family..starting next weekend we are planning to get out and start hitting the trail pretty hard..posted my list on the plan your trail post so check it out and let me know what you all think..almost all are good ol Okie land dances...Hey Numunu!! Good to see you man..my wife says to tell you and yours hello..maybe we'll see you all at Ponca again this year!

A DRUM GUY FROM OKLAHOMA INTRODUCED HIMSELF TO ME AT THE POWWOW IN INDIO LAST YEAR.I CAN'T REMEMBER HIS NAME BUT HE DRUM WITH SOME DRUM THAT HAD YELLOW IN THE NAME.HE SEEMED LIKE A NICE GUY AND HE WAS TELLING ME ABOUT OKLAHOMA AND EVEN INVITED ME THERE.I LOST HIS EMAIL THOUGH.I THINK IT'D BE FUN TO GO THERE AND SEE WHAT ITS LIKE.

Kaw Days

WhoMe,

Kaw Days is on..it is the first weekend in August. Thursday the 4th is the Men's Ilonshka dances according to the tribal website. Then 5th (Friday), 6th (Saturday) and 7th (Sunday) are the pow wow. I talked to a lady yesterday afternoon that confirmed dates and times are listed on the website as well. We are planning to camp at Washunga Bay. Will we see you there?

i'm back!! lol...i had tons of fun and everyone wuz real nice (went to carnegie park)...

hey i heard that the guy from the insurance commercials/waiting to exhale movie wuz going to be at the other kiowa dance...true??

Your right that All State/Waiting to Exhale actor was at the Kiowa Gourd Clan dance. He was there for two days. Some people there even had a honor song for him. Man, that guy can really gourd dance. He was on beat and everything. I thought that was pretty cool of him to take part. He wasnt afraid. Aho AllState Guy!

Carnegie Fourth of July was jamming this year! There were many camps and about 150+ gourd dancers during the evening session July 4th. There were many pledges made, some in thousand $ range. So that means lots of khee next year.

My son, his two and a half year old daughter and my daughter-in-law all dressed and danced the last night. I was so happy to have my family with me.

Joe Fish and the drum was jamming all three days. Luv singing with those Satepauhoodle Sis's. LuuuuuLuuu!!!!!! --Kiowa Gourd Clan Tsol-Haw!

That movie guy was at the Kiowa Gourd Clan. He was deeply moved to see the pride and hospitality of the Kiowa people.

He got up and danced during Walter Ahaitty's special. He was really "feelin' it!" Shortly afterward, he donated $1600 to the KGC for next years' doins!
