Are any of you into "scrapbooking" or making "memory books"??? HAHA..i know this is not the usual stuff we are use to seeing on the boards of "how to" or "how can i get started" or "i feel in my heart" LOL :p...buuutt i was just wondering if there were others on this board that are into scrapbooking??? :Party If so, where do you get your materials?? From a direct scrapbooking retailer or from like Michaels or something??? How long have you been scrapbooking? How many scrapbooks have you made? Would you rather have just stuck with photo albums instead of scrapbooking when considering how much money you've spent on the materials?? LOL...

Most of my scrapbooking has been as gifts for others; but I am also into rubber stamping so I incorporate that into my scrapbooks. I use Michael's, but I also go online. And, my favorite online shopping place: QVC.com has wonderful packages of papers and embellishments, etc. I mean some great prices so check 'em out!

i lubb scrapbooking... it's just a lot of work!
well at least for me it is cause i like to incorporate a lot of details... it's all about the details! i have a book called "the ultimate scrapbooking book" and it has tons of ideas and "how to's" - so i suggest it...
my problem is that i only have one good picture from various events... so what i do is incorporate other "memoirs" from the events... such as a movie ticket, program, or even a fortune cookie fortune... anything you can to help capture/ recreate the memory!
i think scrapbooking is a very fun thing, i would like to get into it more... but it does take a lot of time... i like to get most of my materials at michaels - they even sale scrapbooking kits, books, and other materials, depending on your scrapbooking style... it's also worth lookin' into barnes & nobles for books - they suggest many innovative ideas and are worth checking out.
there's also tons of websites - so go for a yahoo search and see whatcha find (it maybe worth lookin' into before going out and purchasing books)

            I lovvvvve memory scrap booking

welcome to the world of memory scrapbooking Burberrilish.

it started off so simple for me - about 15 yrs ago, when i began show casing and travelling to art shows - with my art. so, i got one scrap book porfolio - with the idea that i would document all that i have done, ppl i met and gone to with my artwork. must have 9 or 10 memory books now ... i thought that this would waaaaay out live me and it would be a piece of me that my loved ones to come ... will sit, read and enjoy, and by the time they were done ... it'd be like i was "right" there with them. soooo, with that said and 15 yrs later ... and about 9 or 10 memory "life" scrap books done and yes, i am a pretty heavy in to it ... lol. so about 2 years ago, i started buying these show boxes (sorta like) and started sorting my photos, by the years and began building a scrap book or two for each year ... as hard as the of the photos are to look at for the memories, like my ex ... i thought long and hard, about putting him in one ... but! i did ... because - he to was a piece of my history ... so what i did was pick out a photo or two - of when we were in love ... etc. anyhoo ... as i live up north ... i buy from our local craft store, or when i go south, my favorite ... place is michaels ... at first started getting stuff from wal mart ... but NOW ... lol ... i could be shopping for leather and come home with beautiful scrap booking papers. lol ... have fun ... it's a great past time.

I never tried scrapbooking myself, I figured it was something that I would get so involved with, I'm a perfectionist, so I thought I'd just not even mess with it so I could save all my focus for my beadwork and sewing.

NdnEyez made me a kickazz scrapbook for when I got married, she put all these old pictures of us and made it look real spiffy :P It was very nice, then she passed it around the whole reception then gave it to me after everyone signed it, it was awesome.

Don't freak yourself out by putting a whooooole lotta pics in front of you to ... just do one page at a time ... because when you and your daughter are reminiscing over the memory books ... you will see, hear and feel how well worth your effort was in doin the memory book.

Thanks for the motivation:) I think that is exactly what I do: I sit down with MONTHS worth of pictures, get overwhelmed, and put it all away. I will try your idea of just doing a page at a time:)

Well, as if I don't have enough other projects going right now I have decided to try my hand at silverwork. I have a ton of it that I need for new dance clothes for my family so I figured I should see if I am any good at it. I have been picking up a few tools and am waiting on some sheet metal to arrive...

Well it seems that there is some kind of huge meth problem up in Alaska or so they say.. so the stores up here have taken everything with D in it's name ie; Claritin D, tussin D... off the shelves and you have to go to the pharmacy to get them.

I did'nt know this a month ago and thought...

                                Boozhoo niji,

I had a rather long day, learned a bunch of stuff today and decided to post on what I had learned. I searched for threads on environmental issues and could not find any on this site, so I decided to start a new thread on the issues of what is going on with the environment....

I see on another thread that Miraposa says she has arthritis. So do I! How about any of you other beaders? I always thought the worst thing that could happen to a beader besides blindness would be arthritis. I got hit with it on my birthday this year in June. I know another beader with it too....
