Aw shucks. Here's a new Tonka truck to keep the little guy's mind off his staples. (I hope he's ignoring them! I can just imagine my grandson tearing his staples out of his head )

You know, I would be grossly preoccupied with them if it were me. . .looking at them, feeling of them, etc. But he's not given it a second thought. I wonder if the stuff they put on it to numb it is still in effect? We'll know more tomorrow.

They said to bring him back in ten days and they'll pull the staples out. "Just bring him to the front of the ER and it takes only a second. It's no big deal. Doesn't hurt." Ummmm. . .THEY'RE TAKING SOMETHING METAL OUT OF HIS HEAD!!!!! Won't hurt my azz! Why are people not delicate enough with our own children? If it was their child, they'd want some sort of sedative or something, I'm sure.

For reals!! I vividly remember getting my staples out after my last C-section. That doc made me holler and he even 'forgot' a staple that he had trouble with.

When one of my girls got a branch stuck thru her scalp, the ER doctor was trying to remove all the bark, dirt and debris by vigorously scrubbing. She was numbed, but screaming bloody murder. Really made me wish I tried to clean it at home.

Did you ever see some nurses manhandle babies in the nursery?? My friend refused to let her baby back in the nursery after seeing a particularly rough nurse flop her baby over like a doll.

My grandson had to go in for a second blood draw last week after the local lab messed up. At least the technician asked if the alcohol prep would sting his skin. I said NO, but you better let it evaporate before you put that needle in. Cuz I know how THAT stings.
