Well , when I got up it was 3 degrees , By the time we went to feed horses it was 10 degrees and now it's already19 degrees. It's supposed to be up to 25 this afternoon. We already have melting from the roof and street !Forecast says it will keep warming each day and 40s by Monday !Hope everyone has weathered this storm as well as we have ,but I know they haven't. This summer when everyone is getting rid of all the extra heaters and such that they bought now and decide to sell at a yard sale this summer, I expect there will be some buying them up ! LOL I know I will ! Even though I didn't need it , we might next time !

I pray that everybody stays warm and healthy.

Please don't freeze body parts. It will always hurt even after heeling if they get only mildly cold agian.

Oh, and be carefull running gas driven heaters and the dangers of CO. You can't smell it.

I will pray further for sunshine giving warmth.

We jhave been in the fifties adn most snbow is gone. Ok, road was for the day icy but I wans only out to bring in the trash can and avoided to slip; my path was well cleared of snow already after snow fall ended.

    Temperatures will go up further.

Sunny and bright. We haven't officially crawled out of the single digits. We're supposed to hit 20F for a high. But the temperature will go up over night during the "wintery mix"(tm). We may hit 30F.m

Got up this morning and had bright sunshine ! Checked the temp -17 F ! Looks are deceiving ! By the time we were done with chores it was up to -4 F. Expected high today is around 12 F......at least it's on the + side of 0 ! Supposed to warm as the week goes on. Maybe even 40 by Sunday ! So far no frozen pipes.

I keep praying for you, the cats, the house, the tree, the other friends and the people. May creator send the sun to shine and giving warmth.

I hope that nobody freezes to death but I know, that some people will. Even here some people froze to death; more than in the years before.

I forgot my weird cold weather thing. My kitchen floor is vinyl tile. The house is pier and beam. The floor got so cold the adhesive failed and the tiles came loose.

BA, of course Crazy Crow is closed. In case the news across the pond hasn't covered it, in Texas, hell has frozen over. If it weren't so d*** cold, we'd be ice skating on the brimstone, lol.

Texas has its own electric grid. We're only tied in to the rest of the US at a couple places in the west and to Mexico at 4-5 places on the border. After meeting the >69,000MW demand on Sunday night, they began to lose generating capacity early Monday. Windmills are frozen, gas and coal plants have frozen, plants in northern Mexico are shut down, natural gas productions is down because well heads have frozen.... At the peak, 40% of the capacity is off-line and 30% still is. We've been having rolling blackouts since 1:30am on Monday. The outages were supposed to be 15-45mins. But in many areas they are lasting many hours. Add local distributions systems that haven't ever seen temperatures like this and homes that aren't built for extended freezing temps.... The body count has started. It's looking like ERCOT, the grid operator, is going to be answering some tough questions.

I weathered a couple below 32F days in Houston when I was in grad school. My apartment didn't even have heat. It was miserable down there when it was cold. I slept with my area rug on the bed one 28F night.
