LOL, they have changed the rules last year. Certain guns, bolt action rifles, cap and ball revolvers, shotguns over under and side by side, single shot short weapons (length under 65 cm) for handgun (pistol/revolver) ammunition are rstricted to ten guns now. Before 9/21 you might have as many as you could affort (with the right to buy ammunition).

Nowadays you can do that only as collector on a named field for gun collection. Guns constructed after 1960 are evil. Mostly before 1945 and no full automatic rifles. Those are war weapons and that is a specila law in Germany.

LOL, you might not have the right to buy ammunition but if you have the permit to reload ammunition, you can reload any handgunn ammunition and reload permit is the permission to have that reloaded ammunition even if you can not buy factory made ammunition.

Don't aks for the meaning, there is only little if any at all.
Each State is different as far as rules of ownership. Kansas , like most States , have few restrictions. If you pass the Federal Background Check , you may buy about any gun you want and as many as you want. There are restrictions for fully automatic firearms ! They require an extra permit from the Feds to possess(and a hefty fee). There are no background checks to buy ammo or reloading supplies other than age , you have to be over 18.
Some States like California and Illinois have ridiculously strict gun laws that severely infringe on gun ownership ! These laws are constantly changing as the lawsuits go on up the chain of Courts and many have been outlawed by the appeals courts and all the way up to the Supreme Court. Illinois used to have a F.O.I.D. card( firearm owner identification card ) and that was recently declared unconstitutional. It seems that politicians haven't figured out that in those areas with the strictest gun laws , they also have the highest crime rates ! They always want to blame the gun , when in reality it's the people that do bad things , not the gun.

They seek power and they get that power from making you give up power. Those who give up their freedom to get security end up with with neither freedom or security.

Considering that the assailant has the benefit of initiating the attack, it behooves the victim to be able to respond immediately and definitively.

Well , I lost a cousin back on the 12th to covid and as I read the Cheyenne paper , which comes out twice a month , it's grim seeing that we're losing about 30 tribal members a month , and most to covid ! At first the ages were my age and older , but lately they seem to be more in the 35-50 range ! Scary stuff ! I'll just keep staying home ! My brother gets his second shot Friday. IHS has a good supply I guess. I haven't heard when/if it will be available here anytime soon !Everyone stay safe and stay healthy !

Ches , In Kansas you need a marriage license , but you don't need a concealed carry license !

Ches, the juxtaposition of a marriage license and concealed carry permit is a bit jarring.

Subs, my prayers are with you.

It's been the week for Covid deaths. I've talked with all of four people this week. Three of the four has lost a friend or two to Covid in the past couple weeks.

In a complete digression... Castillo de San Marcos is the location of Fort Marion, where the government held prisoners from various Indian wars. Capt. Pratt conducted his first educational experiments with Native people on the Cheyenne and Kiowa prisoners.

Lost one of my best high school "raising cain" buddies to covid a few days ago, so the gray, gloomy weather has kind of suited me. There were about 6 of us who hung out and got into mischief, but we never needed bail money. LOL! Best story-it was the summer right before our Senior HS year started. A bunch of us were out in the bay in a boat. We were in front of the fort, aka Castillo de San Marcos (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Castillo_de_San_Marcos ) trying to figure out what we wanted to do next. They used to do cannon demonstrations at the fort for the tourists and we were watching them set it up. About the time the guy lit the cannon, and the BOOM went, we all bailed out of the boat. Freaked the tourists right out. We jumped back in the boat and took off down river. A little while later the Marine Patrol caught up with us, and fortunately for us, one of the guys was the brother of a guy in the boat. Of course we denied any wrong doing, and we got away with it. The Marine Patrol knew we did it, but they also knew we didn't mean any harm. We still laugh about that. Looking back, it's a wonder we survived the dip in the bay because it was right at the mouth of the inlet, and it wasn't uncommon for people who were fishing in the area to catch decent sized sharks. Thank heaven there were no cell phones back then. LOL!
