    • I would love a Moolatte right about now, or an Orange Julius...anything that will bring on a brain freeze!

      • I haven't had an Orange Julius in years! Yummmm!

When I worked at Dillard's in the mall years and years ago, on my lunch break I'd go get an Orange Julius and one or two of those soft, hot pretzels with mustard!

        • Orange Juliuses are getting harder to find, but whenever I see one, i gotta indulge. My old fav was a tripleberry with an added banana, but now I do the low sugar version.

Morning to you too Rose and everyone.

We're on leave right now so I'm getting ready to head out to Drumheller tomorrow to see the hoodoos/badlands and fossils. Then on Tuesday, we head back to Jasper via Blackfoot Crossing, Head Smashed in Buffalo Jump and Columbia icefields then end up at the Hobbema pow wow next weekend.

Hopefully this time it won't rain every day.

                  • Morning again, trip to the Badlands was great, good weather and we got to see lots of Hoo Doos. The dog stepped on a cactus so I had to pull out the needle - she was pretty brave... even braver on the swaying suspension bridge - humans and dogs are not meant to walk across water on a flimsy steel and wire bridge...that's why boats were invented.... lol

                              • "Hoodoo" has a different meaning where I'm from. But here's the definition of the geological formation.

A hoodoo (also called a tent rock, fairy chimney, and earth pyramid) is a tall, thin spire of rock that protrudes from the bottom of an arid drainage basin or badland. Hoodoos consist of soft sedimentary rock topped by harder, less easily eroded stone that protects each column from the elements.

They are mainly located in the desert in dry, hot areas. In common usage, the difference between hoodoos and pinnacles or spires is that hoodoos have a variable thickness often described as having a "totem pole-shaped body." A spire, on the other hand, has a smoother profile or uniform thickness that tapers[clarification needed] from the ground upward.

Hoodoos range in size from that of an average human to heights exceeding a 10-story building. Hoodoo shapes are affected by the erosional patterns of alternating hard and softer rock layers. Minerals deposited within different rock types cause hoodoos to have different colors throughout their height.

                                  Hi,
Just wondering if anyone has info on recipes for beef soup and frybread to feed 200-300 people at an outdoor powwow? My step-father passed and we would like to honor him with a feed but have never done this before. I would appreciate suggestions on recipes, ingredients, cooking times, equipment...

What would you bring with you on a deserted Iceland?
                                  by GoggenGH
If you were forces to live on a small Iceland, big enough to do a powwow dance, alone, what would you bring with you?
There are off course fresh water and enough fruits to survive on your Iceland.
And it's hot enough to not fresh at night.
BUT no electricity, so sorry, you would...
