I've come to the conclusion that all politicians are lying clowns. LOL!

RD, those oysters look good. Are they by any chance Appalachicola oysters? They kind of look like it. Those are the best oysters!! Huge, too. The scallops look pretty good, too. Some places will use stingray for scallops-just cut the meat out of the wings with a small biscuit cutter. They are usually thinner than real scallops. As long as they tell me, I don't mind.

They might be. I don't know. But I've had Apalachicola oysters before, and you're right they are good! It's hard to go wrong with oysters for me. If I'm out to eat with people, I'll get a dozen for myself and tell everyone else to get their own if they want any!

If I remember right, while I was down in Fl. I had some Canoe Lagoons, some Fanny Bays, Miyagis, Blue Points, Umamis, and I think some Kumamotos. Raw oysters and beer! mmmmm I've loved it since I was a child!

Yeah, I agree...I don't mind eating stingray if I'm told that's that it is - just don't tell me it's scallops! Some places will also substitute Tilapia for Grouper. Not acceptable!!! Nothing wrong with tilapia, but don't tell me it's grouper, and don't charge me for grouper when ya put tilapia on my plate!

Why thank you... I did the 10km in 48m35sec (not too shabby for this granny). Got stuck behind a wide load... lady with her jogging stroller and dog...had to hold back until the path got wider to pass her.

                        • That chicken soup looks good. Think I will see if I can get my husband to make some beef stew this weekend. We've got a northeaster going and it's supposed to bring in some rain. Hope so-we really need rain. The temps have cooled off, too, the high today is only supposed to be around 80, but with a cool breeze out of the NE at a steady 35mph, it will be wonderful. Good beef stew and biscuit weather.
The dog is going nuts with the wind blowing. We've got a pecan tree next to the house. Not many nuts on it this year because of the drought, but the wind is dropping what few there are on the roof. I think the dog believes that squirrels are trying to break in to attack him. LOL!

Funny how different regions view cooler weather... up here in Canuckistan, we don't do stews until there is frost on the ground or the temps stay in the single digits. lol

Good sign for our hunting trip, saw a few herds on the move and the colder weather has brought the rut on... Hopefully, we'll have a freezer full of meat in a couple of weeks.

The house I grew up in, we had about 20 pecan trees in the yard. Back then I hated having to go out and pick up all the pecans off the ground! Had to do that before I mowed the lawn each week. Pecans can become deadly missiles when run over by a lawnmower!!! You'd think I woulda gotten tired of 'em...but nope...I still love pecans. I hardly ever see salted and roasted pecans in the stores though. It's always cashews, peanuts and almonds. Mmmmmm.....pecans!!!

                                  Hi,
Just wondering if anyone has info on recipes for beef soup and frybread to feed 200-300 people at an outdoor powwow? My step-father passed and we would like to honor him with a feed but have never done this before. I would appreciate suggestions on recipes, ingredients, cooking times, equipment...

There are off course fresh water and enough fruits to survive on your Iceland.
And it's hot enough to not fresh at night.
