My dog is still sick, and struggling. She's marginally improved but the aggressive treatment just isn't doing what we hoped for.

She has really high calcium levels in her blood and that's affecting her kidneys. Her body is leeching calcium from her bones into her blood and it at a toxic level now. It's called hypercalcemia.

The underlying reason she is doing this is cancer, addison's or parathyroid tumour. The Addison's test came back negative and we're waiting for the cytology report from the lymph node that is enlarged. It looks like it's cancer. I praying it's not. My poor wee girl.. she's only 4. I wanted a long happy life with her... guess we'll have to be blessed that we had these last few years with her. Collies don't do well with chemotherapy, they have issues with the brain/blood barrier. Their brains can't shunt out the chemicals and they get a toxic reaction.

This sucks.
