Kind of a cashew brittle ? Sounds good ! We have been up since about 4:30 Eyes says"I can't sleep so WE just as well get up and start on the cookies!" So as of a bit ago we had finished snickerdoodles , some kinda chocolate pecan caramel thing , gingerbread , chocolate no-bakes , chocolate covered cashews and peanuts !~ I'm ready for a nap already , but it is "peanutbutterjelly time ! LOL

Not me. Only lines I do are in the grocery. We are planning on seeing it sometime over the holidays after the crowds have thinned out.

Coffee and something to relieve my sinus infection ! My nose feels like someone hit me right on the nose with their fist , that's how sore it is ! Eating cough drops like candy just to open them up a bit ! AAarrrrgh !

You need some Elderberry Syrup. It's an awesome immune system booster. Here's the recipe I started using https://wellnessmama.com/1888/elderberry-syrup/ I was out of cloves once, so made it without them and liked it a lot better. You can find organic elderberries on Amazon or get them from Mountain Rose Herbs. I usually just get about 1/4 to 1/2 lb., and keep them in the freezer. This stuff will really keep you healthy. Working with the traveling public and having COPD, I do the best I can to stay healthy without a bunch of chemicals and this stuff does the trick. People at work have the sniffles, I am downing a shot ( medicine cup) of this in the morning and at night. If I start feeling sick, I go up to 4 a day. It's natural and you can give it to kids with no problem as long as they are old enough to tolerate honey. My grandson loves it over his waffles.

Well, my new fudge recipe sucks. The dang stuff is still soft and slightly sticky 9 hours after I made it :(. Too much fructose, I think. It seems to be slightly deliquescent - a sign of too much fructose -- so this morning's rain is not helping the texture.

I love elderberry jelly -- grandma used to make it. But aerial spraying of herbicides along the power line right of ways, really cut into where she used to gather her berries. There is a family farm group that makes nice products sold through Whole Foods. They have a great gift pack that I get my mom for Christmas.

As with all beneficial plants, the Creator has made them exquisitely skilled synthetic chemists. They make molecules beautifully tuned to our bio-chemistry. Hand in glove with the helpful cyanidin-3-glucoside and cyanidin-3-sambubioside are the defensive cyanogenic glycosides. (Be aware that cyanidin does not necessarily indicate the presence of hydrolyzable HCN.) These are present in high levels in the bark, stems, leaves, seeds and unripe fruits. Stress on the plants and certain environments can greatly increase the level of the toxic compounds.

If you're going to make your won, don't forget the wisdom of our ancestors who used these for food. Make sure to remove all the stems (there are sometimes little nubs at the stem end of the berry) and leaves, if present, and cook the fruits. Get your berries from a reputable supplier, because some species or plants harvested from certain areas are significantly more toxic.

Grandma made a lot of jelly and jam decades ago as Mom did when fruit was plenty and weed killers not used in the garden. The garden is long ago gone. A part was used for the Federal Road and the other part is has been used for the parking lot of the local University of Applied Sciences.

The old Oak on the wild property beside the garden which was hit by a lightning and the stump still stretching to the sky has as well vanished for the parking lot.

Sigh, memories of the past long ago.

Hey there! Long time no see! I can handle the cocoa, but the plane ticket is a bot out of reach. LOL!

It's my last night at work until Christmas night. My boss messed up the schedule and dropped me a day. That's fine. I am getting really burned out, so I will appreciate the extra day. The wall of the hotel halls have wallpaper and that's being replaced. They are almost done, and tonight, they are doing downstairs. My usual routine and peace and quiet are being disturbed by the sounds of air compressors and loud conversation.

Weather is beautiful-in the upper 70s, low 80s. That is supposed to change earl next week. Temps back down in the 40s with highs in the 50s.

Tomorrow is a half day at work and then we don't come back until January 3rd. I'm thinking I'm going to "work from home" (occasionally check my e-mail) tomorrow since there is nothing at all happening, except for some people watching Star Wars on the new 90" in the new conference room, and all of the neck ties are gone.

I just got a box from my mom. She recycled the gift paper from a box of candy. What is unmistakably a gift wrapped raising hammer smells so strongly of chocolate that two colleagues have given me the evil eye for not offering to share. Got to love the woman. She repurposed before it was cool. Tho' has it ever been cool to give a teenage nephew a gift in a recycled feminine hygiene product box?
