    • I like fried eggs on a slice of bread with enough butter.

      Perhaps even with ham.

Soft boiled eggs if not to soft is an alternative.

.22 lfB is the most common in GE. Perhaps the 4.5 mm air rifles 7.5 Joule are close to the .22.

Though there are abot 20 Million rifles missing sold by catalog (Neckermann, Quelle, Otto Versand) between 1955 and 1972.

That's a diamondback rattler. We have those, too. A ground rattler or pygmy rattler as some call them isn't very big. A big one is 18-20 inches long and about as big around as a pencil. Most are around 12 inches. They are so small you don't hear the rattle at all.

As for eggs, I would love some fresh eggs. That's what I miss most about having chickens. Well, seeing the babies hatch out was pretty neat, too. One thing that always bothered me about setting hens is the fact that they would let snakes get the eggs. Such a weird zone they go into when they set. We had some Arcana chickens that laid green and pink eggs. One of those hens was the first one to start setting. I knew when they were about to hatch. One day, I went out to feed them and thought the hen was sitting a little high on the nest. Thinking the babies had started hatching, I took a stick and gently raised mama up a little bit. To my utter horror, there was an oak snake wrapped around the eggs. As hubby says" when he heard me screaming like a girl", he came running out with the gun. He shot the snake and when he did, this little tiny chick foot popped out of the bullet hole in the snake. I was so mad at that snake. It had crushed all but one egg. That egg did hatch, though and turned into a pretty little peach colored hen.

        • All this snake talk makes me feel like I'm listening to the old guy rockhounds sitting around the big saws, cutting up their honkin' rocks. They talk about the various club field trips and give a venomous snake count for each one: "I saw three diamond backs that trip." "That was when Bob found the copperhead in his tent." Between those and the visits to various "garden" spots like road cuts and gravel pits, I've never really felt an urge to join any of these trips, LOL.

          • At least now that's it's cold again, they've gone back into hibernation. LOL! It was always my worst nightmare when we were camping to wake up with a snake in the tent. If that had ever happened, I probably never would have gone camping again.

Head cinema is working. A large snake wriggling around subeeds.

Hm, I imagine i am with you, never to go camping again if I would wake up with a snake in my tent. Where I live, your chance even only to see a snake is very low.

There are only the viper and asp. (Kreuzotter and Aspisviper) There number isn't high. The wild boars are a greater danger. In many areas they are a plague. They are entering already front gardens

              • We have feral hogs down here too. Dangerous beasts.

Time to stress eat. I need salty snack food. I've been chasing a weird problem. Solved it, but now I want my last two days back.

I'm writing a program to capture an image from a UVC camera, run a Sobel operator over the image, then a connectivity filter and save the blob areas, raw image and a linear encoder reading to a file. The camera control/image capture class is an well tested piece of code. It's deployed in a couple of machine vision or image capture apps that I've written. It has well tested code for handling camera disconnects and reconnects.

But now in my new program, the class isn't handling the connects/disconnects. The notifications are going to lala-land. This code has a bunch of operations queues, so it is a bear to troubleshoot. Long story short -- too late -- it turns out that if you have only one camera and it is connected on a Thunderbolt dock, rather than the computer's USB bus, all bets are off. I was just using the Thunderbolt dock, because I needed a longer cable and had a dock but not a USB 3.0 extension cable.

A short vacation, in a fortnight we have carnival. Shop will be closed from Friday through Tuesday.

Else you have to wait till April for Easter holidays. This year we have a very rare occasion of Whitesun holidays. The last Whitesun holidays in North-Rhine Westphalia were 1966. LOL.

If it's infected, get some vitamin c tablets and some garlic pills. Take 2 every 4 hours and it will help clear up the infection. I had a very abscessed tooth once and it would be 4 days before I could get into the dentist. I started with the c and garlic and within 24 hours the infection was down. Both are a good boost for the immune system.

This 10 day week of mine is finally over. Well, in 6 hours it will be. Saturday will be errand and laundry day. Headed to the laundromat because all the blankets smell like a small wet dog was sleeping on them-which he was. LOL! He got wet the other morning and I haven't had time to deal with the blankets. I'll throw them in one of those giant washers. Poor Sparky doesn't know yet, but before those blankets go back down, he's getting a bath. He does those sad puppy eyes so well when he's standing in the tub. He can guilt me into bacon treats after his bath, but he can't guilt me out of the bath itself.
