Washing machine and domestic water pump quit service today unexpected.
Arrgh, Grrrrh. The life time cycle of goods of today seems is engineered to shorter and shorter life cycles. If the TV Set fails, it is uneconomical to repair and often beyond repairable. Many years ago you could repair them and it was economical affordable.
Sunshine and 37° F.
Water pump was within guarantee and is already replaced. Washing machine will be delivered on Tuesday.

Coffee ! Just so everyone knows : The average lifespan of any appliance or actually any product will usually expire about a week before the unit fails ! Almost always ! My furnace quit about 10years and 1 month , with a 10 year warranty ! Water heater gave out about a month after the warranty expired.
And yet I have an electric drill that my step-dad bought new around 1960 that still works perfectly ! That does echo BrokenArrow's evaluation ! LOL

Ugh! These weather extremes are killing me. Nearly 85 Sunday and barely making it to the 60s the last couple of days. The pollen, however is hanging in there. Even with the meds I'm still having moments I want to scratch my face off and my eyes out. LOL!Take nothing for granted. Life can change irrevocably in a heartbeat.

An antiacid, please. Eighteen dollars and forty cents, without tip, for two sausage biscuits, a glass of juice, and some fruit! Even for a Houston hotel, that's steep. Glad the company is buying this breakfast.
I'm just cooling my heels until the morning rush hour traffic lets up to get the heck out of Dodge and get back to my corner of Texas.
Looking like I'm driving into storms on the way home. Ahh, the drive to and from this conference. Thirteen years and I'm always in thunderstorms on at least one leg of the trip. On the way down, some idiot tried shoot by me doing 70mph in the left lane that was closed due to standing water. When I passed him, he had spun off the road and was mired to his running boards in mud and grass off the right shoulder.
I'll be so glad to get back to my kitties and my own bed. I've got old. I used to love staying in hotels. Now, not so much.Comment

LOL, I'm watching the students checking out. Kids with their Sunday-go-to-job-interview suits still in the plastic garment bags from the department store. Their research posters rolled up in more expensive cases than their clothes.Comment

Fog just rolled in ! It was a fairly / partly cloudy day , now you can see about 20 feet !
Put 42 eggs in the incubator , cause lord knows we don't have enough chickens yet !!! LOL
Computer is back up and running> Craft room is almost done , just cleaning up ! Got the "floating floor" in the former craft room , just have to finish the trim Eyes is already decorating !

Something way better for lunch than what I brought: leftover Rez-burger Helper.
My mom could make something tasty out of the end of a block of American cheese-food-product, ground beef, powdered milk, flour and mustard powder, garlic salt and cayenne. I made -- um -- "I got to eat this because hamburger is so dang expensive." Mom would make a Martha Steward mac and cheese recipe, substituting half a package of Kraft taco cheese blend and some Velveta for the white cheddar and Gruyere, and ten packets of powdered cheese that came with the last take out pizza for the Pecorino Romano. It would be quite tasty and even presentable. I try something like that and it tastes like the 85th runner up at the Spam-Sucking, Trailer-Trash Cook Off.
Between that and never having aluminum foil in my purse, I feel like a failure as a Native woman, LOL.Comment

Well made Rez-burger Helper is a truly fine thing. (BrokenArrow, there is an American semi-instant meal mix called Hamburger Helper. This is a play on that name.) My version, however, not so much. I think part of the problem was too lean a grade of ground beef. I cheated and made my roux for the sauce in the drippings. There wasn't enough fat to release the starch from the flour. My sauce didn't stay together.
I love the really cheesy version my mom used to make before she got all heath food on us. She'd mix in a touch of tomato paste and some finely chopped dill pickles. It tasted like a nice cheeseburger.
