      • OLC, congrats on getting something free from Amazon. LOL!

What a couple of days. Something is going out in the rear of the truck-I forget how many possibilities hubby named. I'm picking up a rental car in the morning because we can't get it into the dealer until the 28th. Of course it would do it over a holiday. Oh well. Since we live in the boonies, a taxi is $25 one way. Took one to work and home already, and back to work tonight. It's nearly cheaper to rent a car.

It's supposed to be really cold by Christmas. Christmas Eve is supposed to be warm-in the 70s-until it rains. The low Christmas morning is supposed to hit 29 and we will struggle to hit 50 for a couple of days. I know what I will be doing. I'll be bundled up on the sofa working on Christmas stockings and watching movies. LOL!

Have a safe and Merry Christmas everybody!!!
Take nothing for granted. Life can change irrevocably in a heartbeat.

        • Got a nice pre Chruistmas surprise.

A Mercedes E class dragged along the left bollar of my driveway on wending around and fled. We are situated in a dead end street with no turnaound. It is the fith or sixt driver this year.

Furtunately, the bolard is made of stainless steel and deep imbedded with concrete. Grinding and painting will do.

Else, I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Healthy New Year.

          • Nice having a girlfriend to experience Christmas this year. We have meant a lot to each other getting through the isolation and decreased social contact. If I find a cave somewhere, I may become a hermit when and if this is over with.

              • I'm almost ready for Christmas Eve. I've got my tamales and the makings for quelites for dinner. We have a half day at work tomorrow. I'm going to make ginger cashews tomorrow afternoon, so I have some sweet and spicy munchies.

I'll try to put up my new tree for the night, after the cats wrecked my old one last week. I've loaded up the iPad with Christmas music. I dug out the Christmas Story DVD -- "You'll shoot your eye out."

We're having a lot of wind with the cold front coming through. Part of the epic cardboard collection in my neighbor's driveway is plastered against my dining room windows. I have pile of boxes blowing back and forth across the porch. The cats are running amok. The flapping is exciting my Siamese princess. She is playing hockey with a soda bottle cap in the dining room.

                • Rain here heavy in Kentucky. I got a book about native americans, a woman’s white windbreaker with down feathers printed in it and a port side zipper pull. It is so nice, I may have to get a sex change operation. Also got a beautiful micro fleece lodge blanket south western style. I just gave the daughter and family money so they could get what they wanted or needed.

                  • We have rain (as ussual), wind and are ready for Christmas.

                    We will have Wildschwein Sauerbratengulasch.

                    Thanks.

Got the presents before the retailers closed down last week.

I wish you all peaceful and healthy Christmas.

                        • Now that most of the community cats are gone, we're having a plague of mice. They've been getting into the crawlspace under the house. They keep chewing through the foam insulation around where the gas pipes come through the floor.

Since Thanksgiving, Olivia has been getting behind the range and sitting by the gas pipe. She's been watching and waiting. Last night she was careening round the kitchen; I thought with a toy. But just before midnight she got into the Christmas spirit and brought me a little present. I wish she believed in social distancing. A mask covering the mouth with the bleeding corpse would have been a plus, LOL.

(Tho' I confess to being proud of my little girl. It can't have been easy to catch that with only one front leg.)

Jet got torn up by a neighbor's unaltered, very mean male cat. He got sprung from the vet yesterday. After seeing this wound, I think this tom may be been what attacked him back in Oct. If so, I've had close to $1500 in vet bills due to this tom. I borrowed a trap from the neighborhood cat rescue. This bad boy going be singing soprano as soon as I get my hands on him.

I'm be glad to cure this cat of his hormonal poisoning. Jet's a lover not a fighter. Before this tom showed up, in his 8 years as a cat about town he's only been in one cat fight that led to needing vet care. That fight also lead to his adversary being neutered. (Don't worry, I don't neuter human males who mess with me and mine, LOL.)

I don't know how Jet's new battle scar is going to play with the ladies who lunch. It's pretty grim looking now. With his still ratty looking tail, he looks pretty rough.

                          • I've been trying to stay out of my Christmas presents. I've already seen everything, since everything came unwrapped in Amazon boxes, LOL.

I got a copy of A Pictographic History of the Oglala Sioux. I read the 1967 edition that was in the library where I did my graduate work. Amos Bad Heart Bull's drawings were amazing. UNP released a 50th anniversary edition back in 2017. The close $100 price tag kept it out of my Amazon cart. But I got a couple gift cards. It came on Sunday. I'm trying not the slit the plastic until tomorrow. I'm like a little kid, I keep going to the closet and staring at it, LOL.

I'm trying to understand more about the artistic conventions of ledger art. I am trying to develop a vocabulary for silver. I plan to spend tomorrow with the book and my sketch pads spread out on the big worktable in my studio.

                            • A Christmas as never before and not due to Corona.

Mom got as she had wished and I got some craft tools Dad would have liked to have.

                              Sleep well.

Just wondering if anyone has info on recipes for beef soup and frybread to feed 200-300 people at an outdoor powwow? My step-father passed and we would like to honor him with a feed but have never done this before. I would appreciate suggestions on recipes, ingredients, cooking times, equipment...

There are off course fresh water and enough fruits to survive on your Iceland.
And it's hot enough to not fresh at night.
BUT no electricity, so sorry, you would...
