Mostly clear. Ice fog...dense in spots. Lows 40 to 50 below...except around 30 below on the hills. Light winds.

OK, I love it here; but I've reached my cold limit. My little car doesn't even want to start easily. I wish they will start school late or cancel school tomorrow, so I don't have to get up and drive my kids to school.

What the he** is freezing fog. It doesn't sound good. We just had the coldest weather here in a couple of years. When you factor in the windchill factor, it was -13 C. Never even seen or heard of freezing fog before. It did snow a foot here in the Victoria area but I guess that's like spring weather to you. Hope you get warm soon.

some call it whore's or hoars frost.. you know how fog is vapor droplets of water right? Well this is vapor droplets of ice.. it coats everything and makes it all sparkle. Man it was cold her today but I never checked the temp.. just knew when I walked out to have a cigarette, that I immediately closed the door and grabbed a coat!
right now it says -1 degrees here in anchorage, but there's a 59% humidity so that's why i'm feeling it in the bones...

We call it ice-fog; we have an inversion problem here, because Fairbanks is in a valley with hills on all sides, it's bowl shaped. The ice-fog is a result of the extreme cold snap and the warmer river that runs through the down town area. BTW, it went down to -51F last night; it's back up to a balmy -44F right now. The ice-fog is still very bad this morning, it's still at 2/10's of a mile visability.

I heard on the radio this morning that parts of Alaska were having a blizzard and it was 70 below????? Dang that's COLD!!!! The blizzard knocked out the power and so the people were waiting for assistance to get the power back on. Airplanes couldn't land...etc.

Now it's back down to -47F. When I drove my son to highschool early this morning, he commented that we have a car right out of the Flintstones cartoon. It's true, when the car has been sitting in that cold of weather; the tires become flat on the bottom side, so when you start out driving the tires feel like your riding on squares. This is until they warm up after a couple of miles or so. My husband grew up here, and I always have to remind myself where I'm living, this is normal weather to the natives here!

its -36 here... and I thought that was cold darn BB and WW, i sure hope youre staying indoors and staying warm and safe.
Im sitting here worried about hubby cause he travelling on highways, hes so stubborn tho hehe...

They say you learn something new everyday.. Freezing fog I've never heard of in my life til now. We had fog today so bad I could hardley see where I was going.. I was thinking about Adrien Barbeau in that stupid movie "The Fog" Our weather here has been extremely warm Up to 70 F.. I"m a hard person to get cold and everyone is always in awe when they are freezing I go with out a jacket.. I don't even have a coat.. But having the weather you guys are having would make me go and buy a coat and boots and boots and a ski mask... Please stay warm!!!!!

Hey hey now.. LOL I am one of them people that thinks 5 degree weather is freezing..LOL.. But then again i grew up in Arizona...Lived Up in Northern AB too now im in Southern AB... LOL... im happy with the fireplace going and a cuddly blankie...

OH I"m fine.. .it's not as cold here as it is in Fairbanks ... although I did experience -40 once here in anchorage a couple of years ago. It was not fun. You can't breathe air that cold. I stayed inside. And it was right after 2 weeks of -14. I can handle the cold ok, but when it's that cold for that long, the house just won't stay warm. I mean you can crank that heater up to 200 and it would still be cold! This house (work) has these huge bay windows and two sliding glass doors and they are just heat suckers I tell you. The worst part though is it is so dry here, static electricity shocks everytime I go to do anything... OUCH. My kid came running over to me and then touched my tooth (for whatever reason, she's odd sometimes) and shocked my TOOTH! OUCH man that hurts! It goes right to the root!
