During the 1st Gulf War in '91, there was no e-mail....nor cell phones over there...
I wrote letters. I still do once inawhile and actually prefer them over e-mail.

I remember when I was in Panama when the poop was hitting the fan down there as well and we were in the jungle and it has been awhile when we were out there and what do we get delivered to us? The mail!!! I even had a few letters. It was like getting a X-mas present.

Thinking back on all this is making me teary eyed...

I've been on ship too..and mail there is kewl...You always waited for the helicopter to come in. You always knew who got mail and who didn't. People would actually get mad or cry if they didn't get mail. Its sad when you don't get mail thats for sure. Or get a Dear John letter.

Yeah that was a sad time.... not to get any mail... but I don't ever recall any of my friends getting a DJ letter... if they did they kept it to themselves.

PW where'd you get those smilies??? I think I missed that discussion.

I work for myself as a ceramicist. Haveing my own ceramic studio I set my own hours. I gurss you could say I am working my dream job. I love being able to walk across the driveway and be home. I can always be there when my kids need me, doing something that I love and enjoy, and seeing the product through from start to finish gives me a wonderful sense of satisfaction.
If I disappear for awhile it will be because I'm working. Late spring and summer is my slow season because it is hard to get the liquid clay to dry and set right in the humidity here this time of year.

Cant you control the climate around your studio? It seems like you would be able to take care of that problem somehow. Do you have a shop too or what?
