I am pretty sure most of them are just reproductions. It says in the middle of the big disclaimer thing that resin reproductions don't work, which to me implies that they sell mainly repros. I can't imagine anyone blooded selling a real one on ebay, and the site says "Native American made" which is illegal if you aren't blooded and sanctioned by some or other government agency. Seller claims this one's real though.... The picture isn't good enough for me to tell if it's resin.
I figured it's not real but when they said resin reproductions don't work,I was thinking for some reason they were saying that other ones don't work cause they are false maybe I just misread it. I know one thing if it is implying that it is real I know that's a big no no and....... well we all know what happens in this situation.
This may be a job for AngieBuns. She seems pretty good at getting info from sellers. It does claim to be real, so I'll ask your question again, WHY????????
I talked to this guy before... they are WING bone whistles made from domestic goose wings... they are NOT eagle whistles and the whistles from eagles are from the leg bone.
Don't worry that it's not good enough for anyone else to hear... just sing, sing a song.sigpic

I was kinda curious about the wing bone thing.... The thought ran across my mind that maybe it was a turkey whistle.
Does anybody care if it is a "Real" goose wing bone whistle (is there any significance)? I don't know that much about whistles in general, but I have been lectured on a few things about Eagle whistles.
in all seriousness though... I took the "Myers Briggs" Test when I was at Yukon College, as part of "Success 045" and guess what it said my top career choice based on test results was? "Police Detective"
Mine said that I should be a nurse and it freaked me out because I would hate that job. But I am a animal nurse now, (VET. Tech.) so I guess it wasnt to far off, just the wrong species. lol...

But I've been told it's the other way around!
Andre.. cou'dnt answer that question for you... it's not part of my culture.. but other than to play around with at home... what would you use it for? You could'nt wear or use it at a powwow could you? So what would be the point of buying it for powwow use?
Don't worry that it's not good enough for anyone else to hear... just sing, sing a song.sigpic
BB, I was thinking the same thing, but I know of people (some of them are related to me) that just buy stuff like that. On the other hand, I'm sure someone would run around with it at a powwow, and I'm sure there's someone that would wear it to dance too. I don't see anything wrong with having a whistle if it's made of goose, but, not in my culture either....
SAN CARLOS, Ariz. - American Indians are petitioning Congress to investigate the elite Skull and Bones society at Yale University and return the remains of Chiricahua Apache warrior Geronimo to Apaches for reburial.
I got this in email.. I don't know the guy but this I thought would interest some people ... we've already had a mad cow scare in Anchorage and supposedly all thePlease make an educated choice about what goes on your plate, and that of your families, and also make sure your congressman knows that you...
My name is Thomas and I'm a composer from Houston, Texas. I was brought into the native world by friends, not by blood. Ever sense I entered the circle I have felt obligated to give back to it, so I began singing with my friends. The powwow and the enviornment that surrounds it has changed me. ...
