  • Things you hated the most in high school

Can any of us, honestly, remember high school? The homework hassles, bullies, and trying to skip PE because of the evil gym teacher. Let's hear about the tortures most of us went through because of skin color, different attitudes and of course, who's the coolest?

Most thing I Hated about High School.....

of course the homework! I can't stand homework! I didn't like my teachers, they didn't like me....why?!, I don't even know!

I didn't have any real bullies in my school but I did have some stuck up B*tches in my school. I didn't take up PE, which was kinda good because the gym teacher was horrible. I end up taking Art Education, but I still had to deal with a B*tch for a teacher...lol.

There wasn't that many Native Americans in my school so they really didn't care about teaching Native American History, especially in my class so that was really upsetting. If we did take about it, my teachers would get the information all wrong! Ok I have to admit....MY HIGH SCHOOL YEARS WERE THE WORST!!

I went to 2 high schools because my dad had a job transfer between my 10th and 11th grade years. Other than that the biggest problems I had was math and a American History teacher who really took exception to my paper and view of manifest distiny. I didn't have much trouble with the "popular" groups or gym I was on track and gymnastic teams as well as playing softball and powder puff football. Like Pathwalker I enjoyed being with friends and the parties. I still keep in touch with several of those friends almost 30 years later.

I am a softmore, i hate skool! To much homework. My Biology teacher told me to studay all night and all weekend on homework for my classes. And i am like, if i do that, that is 18 years of my life, i will miss my youth, like i wont have any of those "child-hood memories" that all y'all old people talk about! Or have fun with friends or anything, not to mention the fact that i might wind-up going to college...

Wow, high school was like forever ago.. lol.. I had some kewl teachers.. some we partied with, got to smoke in the home ec room during during spare period with.. other teachers well, I still see them on the street and look the other way... they definitely weren't nice.. I could not stand the cliques, mostly the skinny blondes with more air than brains in their heads.. we pretty much stuck to ourselves., lots of cousins and friends from other reserves..

I always ran with kids older than me, so I hated my curfew. I was nicknamed, "11:30".

i miss hs! i lubbed it!
for the most part my teachers were pretty cool, very laid back and i could always kiss up to 'em when i was late on a project or paper... hehehe! EXCEPT for english my senior year... OMG... that was THE WORST! i'm not a morning person AT ALL and i had english first period! so if i was late - she wasn't trying to hear it and if i actually made it on time, then i'd be fallin' asleep in her class... man if she caught us she used to make us stand too - that really sucked! haha... but i passed!
math is my weakest subject, so needless to say i always had it out w/my math teachers! she was a jewish teacher and even used to teach in hebrew!!! wtf!?!?!? no wonder i BARELY passed! sheesh....
but i lubbed everything else... i had a blast my senior year... when i was there... haha. i used to skip all the time, go to the mall, have breakfast @ IHOP... you name it we were ALWAYS skipping... but i still graduated!
i sure had a kick azz time... ahhhh the memories!

I think if I hadn't been one of only maybe 5 natives in a class of 378 I might have had more fun. I was really active in chit like Drama, Debate, Band, Orchestra, Student Gov't. But I was always reminded it seemed that I was dark skinned. I never got asked out on dates in high school which sucked. There were guys who liked me but their friends would give them a hard time about dating a native.
Weird though, same kids see me now that we're out of high school and asked me out and tried to hook up with me and crap when they'd see me back home for the weekends/holidays...ect.
But....the native guys always were goot to me during pow wow season (only time I got to be around lots of natives) and in college (when I finally met some other natives. *L*)
So...had to marry a native. Well...plus as I said last year...I want dark indin babies dammit.
So high school was OKAY. I hated school.....I found out in 2nd or 3rd grade that it didn't end at 6th grade...that there were six more years of school after that PLUS college.

                        Yeah...I was pissed. chyna

                            high school

I went to two very different high schools. One was majority white kids and I hated it there because I did not fit in and nobody went to powwows like I did. The second was ndn boarding school and I loved it because I had all kinds of friends and was very comfortable. If I could take back one thing it would've been my first serious relationship that interrupted my high school years and distracted me from learning and enjoying myself. Native boys have always been my weakness and to this day I have to make myself focus on the task at hand and not worry about them guys.

High School was soooo much fun! The football games, the parties, prom, the clubs I was in. I had a blast. There are a few things that sucked....homework and HATERS.

I'm sure you all have a time when you don't know which path to take. Would you struggle through school a couple of years to get better in the long run or just go to work and forget about it?

I was browsing the paper here in AZ yesterday and came across this little article. I'll try to find it online and post a link.

Anyways, the basis of the article was a call to attention on native americans missing more than 10 days in school year. They are trying to create a program to...

Man back then I loved to run, now you couldn't get me to run if you waved money in my face. I ran on the crosscountry team and I was a cheerleader. Seems a lil hard to beleave considering how mean I look now. But boy, was I in shape. That was at least 25 lbs ago. I wasn't into clubs or student government....
