I only know of fry bread with baking powder in it
    The indgrediants are as follows
    Flour (AP)
    Salt
    Baking powder
    Water

    Now comes the secret part
    the mix
fill a medium bowl with flour till about 2/3rd full
put some salt in your palm probably 2 or 3 teaspoons
do the same with the baking powder probably 2 or 3 tablespoons

Slowly put some water into the mix a little at a time
use wooden spoon and slowly mix till it is sticking together
add more water till you can roll into ball and its sticky...
knead it lightly with some flour on your hand
    then let it rest
I prefer to chill it this makes it nice and stretchy

get a skillet and put some oil in it
    get it hot meanwhile
roll a small ball between your palms and pat it out
    this is where you know
if you can stretch it out till it looks like parchment paper without tearing
    you done good
    if it rips
    bad
    fry till golden brown
    and eat

I use 3 tsp of soda to 2 cups of flour...if I have to make it that way. I prefere the self-rising flour though. Perfect bread dough every time!

egads.. 3 tsp seems like a lot to me... I use about a half a teaspoon to 4 cups of flour.. but shorty, if you want a simple way of making it.. get like the jiffy or bisquick mix and for every cup of the mix you use, use a cup of just plain flour added to it. It makes some surpriseingly great frybread!

Use self rising, or 1 tsp baking powder to every 2 cups of flour. Really, don't measure, just use a handful per bowlful.

You should let it sit quite awhile after mixing it. It won't really rise, but will get "lighter".

If you want the rising kind, I got a killah recipe.

Ok, here's one of WOCUSWOMAN'S favorite recipes using baking powder.

                        4 cups flour
                        1 TBSP baking powder
2 tsp sugar (not for sweetness-for browning)
                        1 tsp salt
                        2 cups luke warm water
MIX DRY INGREDIENTS WELL, THEN ADD WATER. STIR QUICKLY UNTIL STICKY, LET IT REST FOR AT LEAST 5 MINUTES. GREASE BOTH HAND WITH SHORTENING, THEN KNEAD MIXTURE BY FOLDING OVER 1O TIMES GENTLY. YOU MAY USE A LITTLE BIT OF ADDITIONAL FLOUR TO HELP WITH KNEADING PROCESS. DIVIDE INTO EQUAL SIZE PIECES, FLATTEN WITH HAND, CUP OR ROLLING PIN. FRY IN HOT OIL OR SHORTENING THAT IS 1/2- 1 INCH DEEP IN HEAVY PAN(CAST IRON WORKS BEST), COOK ON EACH SIDE UNTIL GOLDEN BROWN. THIS IS SUCH GOOD BREAD, IT DON'T EVEN NEED BUTTER ON IT.

for serious frybread you have to go to the source. my wife makes world championship frybread and ill invite you all to learn here in ganado az. the frybread absolutely doesnt get any better.

but i have to warn you. men will want to marry you and build stuff and youll be invited to nice dinners where youll be required to bring the goods.. if thats what you want, come on over.

LOL would'nt it be fun to have a frybread cookoff in alaska considering how many natives from different nations live here?

It would be very interesting to see the many different ways fry bread is made. Each tribe has their own little touch to make it uniquely theirs.

Sure you can just put any hot-brewed coffee in the fridge and make your iced coffee....but the true way to make it is to cold brew it .....and it's EASY, requires no special pot or even electricity.

The cold brew method doesn't leach the acids out of the coffee so it will be easier on...
