I never did like the Native Barbies being sold...as I said before, the Princess Jasmine dolls have a better ethnic look and they are more realistically posed, and so I just made the dresses myself. All the Mattel Barbies have the exact same features, including that stupid mouth, but the "Ethnic" barbies are dyed various, inhuman shades of beige. Very ugly!Ipsica Waci

Naw just kidding, don't hate them, but I was too busy buying them and next thing I knew, I was stepping on them in the hallways, in the restroom, in the tub, outside in the yard, it becomes an epidemic. My daughter has like 20 of them!Courage is just fear that has said it's prayers.

Originally posted by Native Disc Doggeryou know now that I've reread this, my niece may owe a large part of her fashion sense to Barbie and those Brat dolls. She's somewhat outgrown them now and thankfully because those little shoes and accessories were EVERYWHERE and they would hurt when you stepped on them. So maybe Barbie isn't all bad since it did make her fashion savy......but I'm still against the plastic surgery partCourage is just fear that has said it's prayers.

No it is not a matter of taking care of herself. From a health standpoint she is probably healthier than most people. She rarely chooses to eat sugar. And because of her diet she gets all of her nutrition from eating properly balanced foods. She chooses to exersize daily because she is very hyper active and when she exersizes and eats right she is able to focus and learn (and not get into trouble). I asked her about it and she quite simply does not believe there is anything wrong with plastic surgery. I guess I can't really blame her. I mean you see all these film and pop stars. They talk openly about surgery and how it has drastically improved thier lives. You see them flat chested one day and then the next day they look like they have shoved balloons down thier shirt. Ever watch MTV lately? those girls are pretty much naked and the popular song lyrics all talk about womens parts. What do you "My Humps" by Black Eye Peas is talking about. Fergie, the singer, talks about how guys give her all sorts of things like diamonds so they can be near her " lovely lady lumps". On MTV a few years ago (it may still be on, I don't know.)they had a reality show where teens (mind you they are 18) were surgically changed into thier favorite stars. Look at shows like The Swan when people compete to undergo the most drastic surgical changes to win. I read in one of her teen magazines that many affluent parents will give thier children as a gift for either thier 16th Birthday on high school graduation, boob jobs. (which says to me that they have more money than sense) And No she nor her older sister, is not allowed to read that magazine anymore but we can't lock her in a box. Maybe I'm just the one that has become old fashioned. Gracious I have turned into my mother! :0
