  • a man seeking wisdom

There was a man of the pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. this man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher that came from God; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him. Jesus answered and said to him, most assuredly, I say to you, unless a man is born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God. Nicodemus said to Him, how can a man be born again when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mothers womb and be born? Jesus answered, Most assuredly , I say unto you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the Kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do you marvel that I said to you, You must be born again? The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from or where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit. Nicodemus answered and said to him, How can these things be? Jesus answered and said to him Are you a teacher of Isreal, and do not know these things? Most assuredly i say to you We speak what we know and testify what we have seen, and you do not receive our witness. If I have told you of earthly things, and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you of Heavenly things? No one has ascended to heaven but he who came down from heaven, that is , the Son of Man who is in heaven. And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the son of man be lifted up, That WHO EVER BELIEVES IN HIM SHALL NOT PERISH BUT HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE. FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN, THAT WHO EVER BELIEVES IN HIM SHOULD NOT PERISH BUT HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE. For God did not send his son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in him is not condemned, but he who does not believe is already condemned, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God. ST. JOHN CHAPTER 3 VERSES 1 - 21

    Casting your pearls before swine???

13For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous in God's sight, but it is those who obey the law who will be declared righteous. 14(Indeed, when Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature things required by the law, they are a law for themselves, even though they do not have the law, 15since they show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts now accusing, now even defending them.) 16This will take place on the day when God will judge men's secrets through Jesus Christ, as my gospel declares.
17Now you, if you call yourself a Jew; if you rely on the law and brag about your relationship to God; 18if you know his will and approve of what is superior because you are instructed by the law; 19if you are convinced that you are a guide for the blind, a light for those who are in the dark, 20an instructor of the foolish, a teacher of infants, because you have in the law the embodiment of knowledge and truth— 21you, then, who teach others, do you not teach yourself? You who preach against stealing, do you steal? 22You who say that people should not commit adultery, do you commit adultery? You who abhor idols, do you rob temples? 23You who brag about the law, do you dishonor God by breaking the law? 24As it is written: "God's name is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you." ;)

Riddle me this, if God loved the world so much......why would he condemn his creations to hell? Doesn't make that much sense to me.

          I always wondered that too.

My understanding it all started in the garden of Eden.. Eve and the apple thing. So with her and Adam going against the rule of the creator........ there had to be a punishment..... that's why women give birth thru pain and men have to work by the sweat of his brow. Got dang....anyone ever having labor pains has to wonder.... ya think that would be bad enough wouldn't ya???? :

That whole Adam and Eve and the Apple story is another way that the feminine/female half of creation gets a bad rap - almost all the bible stories I've read involve a woman doing something she shouldn't.

I believe that bible has gone through so many "edits" - there's nothing of the original story left - it's all about the perception of the man in charge of the printing.

As I understand it.. he does'nt condemn anyone to hell... they do it themselves by making the choice to believe or not believe in him. We were given free will to decide for ourselves.

I have to disagree.....I'm sayin I do not believe my god had so much compassion, but it was conditional??? I can't agree to that. But that's just my thought. I have always thought Christianity was a belief to keep people in order and Hell was an idea to keep people behaving and not causing trouble. Just my thing.

I presonally dont believe in the bible(most of it anyway) for the reason that Singing Eagle has stated,it has been revised too many times to fit Man interests not GODS, Creator whoever one belives him to be. The worlds faith is being questioned and throughout history there has alwasy been a process of this happening, where new religions emerge to fit a certain faction of society and thats fine until one starts to impose those beliefs on people claiming thier way is WRONG.. I do not support any religion that holds a double standard and this day N age most of them do. Take for instance the LDS religion.. they state they do NOT believe in Poligomy yet IF it were LEGAL to practice they WOULD certainly be doing it because it is one of thier gospels to procreate and replenish the earth. Yet they want to be looked upon seperately than the fundamentals that broke away form the original Mormonism that had originally promoted such actions. Also this religion claims that NAtive Americans are thier chosen people So... My question is WHY if we are teh chosen people do they feel the need to come and fix US?? In our area Natives are treated the worst BY the LDS religion yet on Sundays dote (spelling) on us like we are royalty... Thats the double standard im talking bout.

                        and heres a question...

If procreation was one of GODS gospels and Jesus was chosen to preach such gospel than why is it so IMPOSSIBLE that he himself would have had children? Ya think that if that were something GOD himself would want why would he NOT want his Only Son to have children which would follow such doctrine. Im not saying that the theory of Jesus having children or lineage on this earth is fact, cause the truth is we dont really KNOW.. but .. for it to be impossible i feel is inaccurate. There are many years of Jesus life that are un accounted for. any thoughts?

I agree the Da Vinci movie sure has stirred alot of thought and debate but i dont think that is a bad thing, i think people are merely trying to find spirituality again and the world we live in today it is NO wonder why such questions are raised why peoples faiths are being tested, In a world of turmoil there are bound to be people looking for for some kind of reassurance that whatever they have belived is in fact true.

Sorry i rambled.. but i just have had it with MAN mad religion.. Ill stick to our own Native teachings and practices since it seems to be working for me and my family and dont seem to have such double standards as these so called higher sects. Id rather believe in something that has existed since time immemorial than something that had existed for alot shorter period adn something that seems to be changed time after time to fit MANS agenda Our Native Peoples Lived for thousands of years without the help or aid of christianity and since thier arrivbal our people have suffered... So do i feel that this is what GOD wanted? I dont think so cause it wasnt done out of love or compassion rather out of fear and domination. But i will stop here as i may have said things to offend a few here.. all i can say... Is that IF your beliefs are what helps you become a better person and makes you content with life than so be it, but to impose ones beliefs on another in attempts of assimilation I dont think was part of GODS plan.

Allthough found to have some grains of truth to it, the da vinci code has pretty much been debunked left and right as of late. It's speculation with touches of rumour sprinkled with facts and generously poured over human gullibility to make it look more believeable. The only thing is the author stated that it is based on ALL TRUE FACTS and they are'nt all true facts...

Blackbear, I see that you understand the Bible corectly. as it is written. Mato, I see you understand as well. Some people
beleive that the books of the Bible were chosen and edited, so that the church has total control. Some people want to have access to all the scroles ( gospels ) so they can make up their own mind, not just what the first church wanted or proclaim that is the only truth. Food for thought.
Did anyone watch the gospel of Judas?

Oh i agree BB.. that it is mixed with both fiction and truth more so fiction.. I guess my point was that it did create a debate about certian so called conspiracy thoeries.got people thinking.. and this time in the world it doesnt suprise me that people are looking for more truths, that religion is being questioned.
