Did anyone watch the gospel of Judas?

Yes i did see that.. interesting another thought provoking show.

angelfeather, You are like so many other people out there, which there is nothing wrong with that. The people that I am talking about are the "What IF People". A lot of people think that Religion cloggs peoples minds and they stop thinking for themselves. They simply accept what is in the Bible and don't care to think any more, and live by simple rules.

Yes that is true inna sense.. i do question alot particularly when it comes to religion and more so lately. Im not sure it cloggs peoples minds so to say as it would more open those minds up allowing for such doctrines to be evolved over time...
I do agree alot of good Does come from religion, and that there is some truth to be found in the bible just as there is probably some truths that have been left out. I have just decided to personally live life to my best ability while try to appreciate the blessing I have been given by the creator. Like I said if ones religion and beliefs and faith in certain doctrines make them a better person than thats good as long as there is no imposotion on anothers belief, because i just think that there are basic truths in all religions which do in some ways connect us all. Just my thoughts. My own self discovery on the subject.. its a good debate and good food for thought for everyone participating

I read the first paragraph, and was intrigued by the topic, but after trying to read the rest of the post, got lost in the massive monolithic paragraph posted and found it harder and harder to read the darn thing. I wanted to read it, because it was a good topic, but the more I tried, the harder it was to read a paragraph that had little or no punctuation, and had only ONE paragraph. One single blob of a paragraph. Not a single break for punctuation. It's as if the paragraph bandit stole away each and every delimiter which should have been inserted into this post. I wanted to read more, but I could not do so. The paragraph stood before me like a massive jumble of letters. A big and dark statue..smooth and unyielding...I threw my jaw bone in the air and whooped and grunted, yet the monolithic paragraph stood resolute to any attack. It stood strongly against any efforts of punctuation assailed against it. It stood despite any reason that assailed it. It stood proudly representing all whom reject any form of written language in a manner that would allow folks to actually read the darn idea that is written, and therefore understanding the subject of which it is written. Could anyone read that paragraph or this one without having to take an aspirin or two just in order to be able to un-fog or focus on a paragraph without any puntuation. It's said that what separates man from the beasts is tools. Maybe. But, I'm thinking it's gotta include a few commas and periods and darn paragraphs, too. That's it! What separates man from the other animals is punctuation. hehe It's a good subject and all, but if your message is lost to the folks you are trying to reach because they can't read your message, well...is there a message? Even though the entire monolithic post was simply a quote from Christian scripture to folks that are historically already very much Christian, and trying to save our already saved souls. This did not assuage the author from making their massive, quoted scripture and non-structured post. The message is much appreciated by many of us. Their delivery vehicle is...well...lacking, being but one paragraph which is hard to read and without puctuation. :P Made my head hurt. It's your language, bud. I had to learn it. If you wanna preach to me in your own language try throwing in a few commas, periods and paragraphs, okay? Little to ask. Just try. You are a Christian. So am I. So are many of the folks you are trying to preach to. "Preaching to the choir" comes to mind. You'll find that many native folks are very very Christian already, and we don't need more missionaries preaching to us how wrong our ways are. So...in fin....buy a vowel. And, a consonant. And, especially...a paragraph or two. Us heathen 'indians' are already saved, boy-o.

The above was an example of a "blob" paragraph. Just an example. Some very good posts are lost in those.

                    ROFLMAO ZOTIGH!

The reason people think that we just blindly accept is because most churches preach to blindly accept the bible for it's word. It HAS been changed so on top of the good message and the instruction by Christ you have to use some good sense.

I'm tired of hearing about a God that died for our sins but at the same time condenms gays or anyone else for that matter. Or those that pre-judge someone's ideas as works of the devil. A fine example of that is that one chick on last seasons' trading spouses. Sure the other family was more than a tad bit nuagey, but she did'nt even want to hear what things were, she just assumed it was all from the devil.

He gave us a mind to think, and a heart to feel and the gift of choice. And I see nothing wrong with blind faith as long as it is'nt harmful or go against the good sense God gave you. But think of it this way... do'nt children learn by asking questions?
Don't worry that it's not good enough for anyone else to hear... just sing, sing a song.sigpic

Like in the simular thread. I agree with those who said that the Bible has been changed to meet the needs of the various church leaderships and to control the people. Though some of the Da Vinci code is based on opinion, some on fact. But also, the Bible has no historical fact either. You either believe or not. As I have stated in the other simular thread, scholars who have search the Roman records, and they were very good at record keeping, have found no trace of the stories written about Jesus and his followers durning his time. All records come from about the time the Christainity really started to move. Which was about 100-300 years after Jesus's death. I would look at him as an Elder. But why not seek wisdom from our own Elders? Why not find balance from our own traditions and beliefs.

Oh and to add to the discussion - the bible is a book - one that has been in print for a long, long time but still just a book. It's claimed that it is the word of god but where is the proof?

I'd like to see any scrolls unveiled too.

I think the bible's a good read - lots of great stories - I don't buy into the hype that it's "the end all be all" of how to be a good person. I'm a good person and like others, I follow a different path of faith.

I wasn't trying to make a point really. People who quote scripture and use forums such as this one to try and get converts to their ways of thinking are idiots. If you want to preach and tell everyone that they need to listen to the "good word" get a life. If that is the aim of people then they should stick to religious forums and deal with people who want to hear their rhetoric. I came on here to have fun and talk with other ndns. I don't need somebody telling me about the bible and that I need to accept jesus christ as my personal lord and saviour. I have experienced all of this crap most of my life. If you want to believe in that then that is your choice. When you start trying to make people believe your way is the best way then I have a serious problem with that.
