  • I'm triying to upload url animation avatar in my profile but....

It won't let me use 125X125 and 125X111 pixels

I read avatar information said that it can be use 125X125 and under, I uploaded my animation Bald Eagle 125X125, still not working, when I click submit it, it said that

"The file that you have tried to attach is too big. The maximum size is 20000 bytes."

I tried to use url link above upload but still not in use with that 125X125 and or 125X111 pixels, it still said "The file that you have tried to attach is too big. The maximum size is 20000 bytes." over, over, over and over....

I have seen most members have 125X125 pixels avatars, I checked there's avatar sized with right side of mouse to let me know what size they have.

Here's my 2 animation Bald Eagle avatars 125X125 pixels on the left side and 125X111 pixels on the right side.

I don't know what I to do, please help!!!!!

    Wado,

There are TWO size limits that you have to deal with in uploading an avatar image. The first is the viewable size (125 by 125) the second is the size of the FILE.

On the file on your computer, right mouse click on the BaldEagleAnimationsmall.gif file... you will see a menu pop up and at the bottom is a thing called "Properties". Click on where it says "Properties". About half way down the properites box (that will appear after you click on the menu) is the file size.

If you made that animation, you will need to optimize it. Most animation generators will give you an optimization option. If it's already optimized, you need to go back to your original image set and remove some of the intervening images until you reach the right FILE size.

If you didn't make it, let me know. I have some animation software on my computer at work and I might be able to deconstruct it/optimize it/re-animate it (no promises on success tho).

      Hope this helps.

125 x 125 is like saying something is 12 inches by 12 inches. Saying something weighs 10 pounds is like saying a file is 20,000 bytes. I downloaded your animation to my computer. I right mouseclicked on the file. I got the properties to show up. Here is how BIG(heavy) your FILE is: 52.0 KB (53,248 bytes). The FILE is more than two times too big (heavy) to be an avatar. The image may be the right size as far as screen space goes, but as far as memory to hold it goes - the FILE it is too big(heavy).

file size (weight) of the one on this post: 14.8 KB (15,249 bytes) which should work - when you click on the thumbnail it will show you the animation
