I like to think that I was standing my ground, not argueing..
And anyone trying to steal Chief out of the cage should have their head examined.

Chief is a very nice and loving dog, but try to take him out of his cage is like trying to put gasoline on a fire at close range.

unless it's me or my wife. When he's in a cage or at home behind a fence or in the house you had better hope that
my wife or myself are there. He is very protective of his space....

    JD can answer this one...

It's somebody who lives closer to the coast in places like, well, ober der! kiddin

Some places, mostly in the southeast near the coast, it's like a tabletop for about 100 miles inland (hills don't count). You would have to drive about 4 to 5 hours inland to see a mountain, then another 2 hours to get to the mountain! Lots of swamps, alligators and water mocassins in the flatlands.

Well...this is my version of a flatlander!

I think he's talking about having been to the cherokee reservation and they are in the mountains.

started a topic Frustrated Because Of Ignorant People

    Frustrated Because Of Ignorant People

I went up north over the holiday and decided to stop in at a local reservation.

I decided to take my dog with me because I thought he might like the cooler temperatures.

On the way up north it started raining.
So I pulled over and tied 2 plastic bags, one on each side of the crate/ cage, which covered up about 2/3 of the sides.

And a couple of state police officers saw what I was doing and gave me a small tarp that covered up the top of the crate. I thanked them and went on my way.....

    Later on ....

    It stopped raining...
    I rolled up the tarp..
but I left the plastic bags tied to the sides...
    overcast sky...
Plenty of air flowing through the cage.
I go to the museum on the reservation, after being in the museum for about half an hour....
the reservation police come in and ask who the silver truck belongs to with the dog in the back.

He asks me to come outside..
when we were outside he says that he got a call from someone across the street " There's a dog wrapped up in plastic next door at the museum "

So he had to come and check it out..
he said that it was not as bad as he thought it was after seeing the cage..

I told him that who ever called it in was pretty stupid....
His reply was we take care of our animals around here..

and it is very hot and humid...
I disagreed with him.. He said that it was about 90 degrees
    and humid...

    I dissagreed with him again...
I said that it was not any more than 80 degrees out and low humidity...

He said the dog looks fine to him but the conservancy officer is on his way over.

The conservancey officer said he had to check up on it..

He said the dog looks fine.
And he gets a lot of calls of people leaving there animals in the vehicle on a hot day like today, with the windows rolled up.

The people acrossed the street, the reservation officer, and the conservancy officer, all failed to see the dog in the van with the windows rolled up.

Located back 1 space and over 2 spaces. They all looked right at it.

The van was there before I was and the owners came out after I did.

The only difference was that I had an out of state liscense plate and a sign on the truck that said ------- Virginia.

When I left the museum the clock at the bank gave the temperature it was a VERY VERY VERY HOT HOT 78 degrees

    LOL

    i CAN SEE THE DIFFERENCE

I talk the way they talk, I am of the same Tribe, But I don't live there, and my skin is darker then theirs, and I sport a different liscence plate.

I am refered to as a flat lander by some..lol
