  • Predictions for this Winter

I live in a rural area with lots of ranching and farming. Anytime we go somewhere in the community the topic is how hard a winter it's going to be. We already are sitting at our end of Oct begining of Nov temperatures, and have had our first snow storm in the mountains, with a little bit here on the plains.
So how about where everyone else is at. Does it look to be a long winter, lots of snow, really cold?
Will it be a white Christmas, or 75 degrees like last year?
Are there super fuzzy catepillars running around or any of the other natural signs of a hard winter?

    Just wondering,
    Sarah

I predict that the Seattle Seahawks will avail against their nemesis, the GB Packers, in an all time epic Monday Night football collision. I, also, predict a cold, dry fall for the NW, countered by two weeks of non-stop snow, sleet and and ice storm occuring on December 22, 2006. From then, the Seattle Seahawks will be given a by for the week and forced to play their 15 game against the Chargers in San Diego, rather than at home driving ticket holders to plunder and pillage throughout Pioneer Square, crippling the entire NWs espresso and coffee industry beyond repair.

The Seahawks will go on to defeat every rival to be, once again, the NFC Championships. Although victorious, this win will lead them to the Superbowl where they will be stricken with the Curse of the Buffalo Bills..to our dismay, our Seattle Seahawks will trudge home year after painstaking year, arms empty of the Superbowl trophy....only until Seahawk fans realize the damage they did to the espresso and coffee drinkers of the NW, will the curse ever be lifted.

    ...that's so true....so, so true...

Yah, I'll go with you on the SeaHawks!!
As far as Winter goes in Southern California....I think since the Summer was hotter than I can remeber it ever being, I think we're looking at no colder than 55. I think the snow in the mountains are going to come late too.

Everything has been "out of whack" here in the east. We had spring in January and our August came in July. We got all our rain for the summer in about 5 days... which is OK for the water tables but the dry spell stressed the trees badly to where they were dropping green fruit and leaves early.

It's trying to be early November outside tonight but by mid-week next week the weather dude claims it'll be back into September weather for a while. Maybe I'll find a wooly bear catepillar when it warms up next week but it feels to me that we will continue to be a month or two off in weather for at least another 4 months - which could mean snow instead of late November rains and spring rains in January on frozen ground!

A lot depends on the el nino factor - there is a "little one" forming last I heard but it will be a month or so before anything can be said about that for sure.

My prediction for this winter is a good one, so listen up !!
This winter will be full of bliss, powerfull blessings from above coming from the Creator. But watch out for the evil one bringing the storms of life from the pits below.

Make sure you are covered with the cleansing blood of Yeshua the messiah ( Jesus Christ ) For with Him you can weather any storm that life has to offer.

For those that would like the cleansing and covering of the blood so you can weather those storms of life, repeat this prayer:

            Father in Heaven,
I believe you sent your Son Yeshua "Jesus Christ" to die on the cross for my sins, and I except Him as my personal savior
So, Yeshua, my heart and mind are open for you to enter.

cover me with your blood, so I may weather all storms of life with you. for it's in Yeshua's "Jesus" name we pray Amen.

For those who have never read a bible it's time to start !!

Start by reading a chapter in the first book of each Testament

Please take your time reading, there is no need to rush through it. Take time to stop and think about what you have read.

Enjoy your new life, the Bible is your new life manual "The Living Word "

Read it daily and pray morning, noon, and night.

God Bless you all and to all a good night !!

              Darn...some people get so long-winded!

              Here's my prediction...

It's gonna be cold where it's gonna be cold.

It's gonna be hot where it's gonna be hot.

It' gonna rain where it's gonna rain.

And it's not gonna rain where it's not!

              According to my weather rock.

Why must I feel like that..why must I chase the cat?

Its October here and it still is in the 70s. It is supposed to be a fairly warm winter here again. That's on Vancouver Island.

Oh and why do people feel they have the right to spew junk on religion on these forums. If you want to speak like that go find a religious chat group. Many of our ndn people have problems with people talking religion because of the residential school experience. I don't have a problem with people who want to believe in god or jesus, why do I have to be subjected to it on here. I don't tell you that I believe that the institution of god and all is pretty much a fallacy. So why do they have the right to tell me I need to accept that into my life.

ntownn8tive- The seahawks may prevail over the Packers, but that doesn't look like that will take much this year. Just glad to see that the Bear's beat them.

little bird- We were much hotter here too, but at weird times, and then when you expected it to be really hot it wasn't.

Between 2 worlds- I know our farmers around here had some of the same problems, lots of water really fast and tehn long stretches of nothing. The farmer's markets were a mess cause nothing was coming in at the accustomed times.

Grandson of Zeela- going to leave all that alone, glad you have something that works for you to beleive in, just remember it doesn't work for everyone.

Joe's Dad- MY grandmother has something similar on her door a little braided almost looks like a bookmark (which is incredibly humurous to me since she lives in an apartment with an inside door), the best part is that last line on hers though "if it's gone somebody stole it".

Singing Otter- I agree I think it will be an overall cold winter but I think it's going to come in streaks of really warm too. Hopefully. I never used to mind the cold all that much until I joined the Fire Department (cause i used to sit on my but in front of the fire and stay warm) now you can guarantee it will be the coldest day of the year and we'll have to go out on a 12 hr search and rescue or something. ok sorry off topic there.

badmaninc- We had an overall cold Sept, but we have rebounbded and are having fairly warm days again. But it 's not the typical pattern for the fall either, so not sure. Keeping our fingers crossed for Halloween to be at least decent for the kids. i also agree with you on the other post.

Have a wonderful day and enjoy the wild Fall and hope for a wet but mild Winter.

I believe that everyone better be PREPARED!!! Stock up on a weeks worth of canned/dried food and water. Have plenty of blankies, batteries, and other essentials, especially required medicines.

If a weather disaster, or a flu epidemic, or truckers strike, or extended power outage happens, you just never know when things will be back to "normal".

If you're in the snowy area, get your snow tires on NOW. Keep food/water and some other essentials in your car, along with blankies.

So get prepared for the worst, and HAVE A NICE WINTER!!

Okay momme, when the Seahawks lose, we don't speak of it....that's just how it goes. And, I feel bad for Green Bay, they are my second fav. Can't wait for the Cowboys-Eagles game, anyone making bets for points?

GSOZ: prayer for ye Bears fans, Seahawks will have their day of reconing..............

                          ...that's so true....so, so true...

No where did I say " you need to accept that into your life "

it's a choice... just like reading that post !!

you could have ignored that post but you chose not to......

And religion is a big part of a lot of ndns lives.

The message comes in many different ways, and when it does it can cut deep into ones soul.

                            Enjoy !!!

The Keystone issue should be considered part of a campaign and not just a battle. The difference is that, a battle may or may not be limited to a single tactical engagement. A campaign represents a battle, or series of battles, that are linked to a Grand Strategy.

                              A classic case of this...
