    After much consideration I've narrowed my list to just a few of my most desired items.....

    1. a Powwows.com shirt (of course!!!)
    2. a case of Rasberry Zingers
    3. a six pack of Schlitz (beer)
    4. tickets to see Bob Seger

    The worst gift I ever opened? That would be an ovulation kit from my evil Sister. She thought it would be funny and entertain the Grandparents.

    After my Grandma had her stroke she delighted in buying my Sister, Cousin and I (all girls) bra and panty sets. And the almost inappropriate kind, too......definately not want you want to open in front of your male cousins. But she acted like that was the highlight of her Holiday so whatever made Granny happy......

        I want an electric blanket for Christmas. As cold as I get some nights, I think it would be perfect. The air just gets too dry to turn the heat up high during the winter.

          How about ones we have given? LOL

          me and my exhusband still trade gifts for xmas. One year, I gave him a reader's digest money clip that was shaped in a dollar sign and was gold toned. LOL The best part of the gift was he knew it was from readers digest !!! LOL

          Last year I gave him a minature lint brush.

          But the worst gift I have been given was a pink plastic back pack from one of our older brothers and his wife put in a pair of socks!!!! LOL

          What I want this year:

          1.) The front window fixed;
          2.) New carpet thru the whole house;
          3.) A new dog house for my rat terrier.

                          i want this year to be the one year that i do not have to worry about spending money on my kids, and family gifts, i want my gramma to be here for x-mas.(i keep asking her what is so good about going home to the great spirit anyway when you can be here with arthritis, sore joints, crappy social security, and a faulty bladder)

                          i want to see my toddler realize for the first time how the giving is a gift, watch him get excited cause sissy loves the handprints he made.

                          i cannot think of a worst gift, i sat here for ten minutes trying to think, but you know i have been blessed with my kids and my fam, and every gift i have gotten was given with so much love, well how can that be bad.

                            I think the worst gift I've ever received would have to be anything wasn't at Christmas, it was a wedding shower gift.........The lady didn't want to make one of those wedding cakes that is made out of towels b/c the last two couples she made it for, got divorced, so my mom said maybe it would be better to get us something else. AND SHE STILL MADE IT. I never used it and gave it to a single person so I wouldn't jinx any married couples. *L* It would've been nice if there hadn't been negative vibes about the gift.....

                              This year is gonna be quiet...I'm not expecting much and I'm not spending alot either. I just have my Mom and Brother, right now. Mom says she has everything so it's hard to buy for her and my Brother may or may not show up. He's weird that way. Every year we tell him not to spend anything because we know he's always short on funds. And every year he has this gal he works with that goes shopping for him--real personal, eh? One year he/she gifted me with a Size small fleece top. Not my size....maybe hers? I took it back to the store 'he' got it from and had $9 to spend on something else. I look at it this way: it is better not to give at all if you aren't giving from the heart or if you can't afford to give. Family should be close enough that one could be honest and say 'gee, things are really tight this year, but I love you so very much.' Am I wrong?

I would raise him to be an Indian!"-Luther Standing Bear, Lakota

                                ok peeps, christmas is just around the corner. So how many of you go into debt to make christmas just a little more special for those people important in your life? I always make sure I go "all out" for christmas every year, even if I do go into debt. It is well worth it to see the smiles...

                                I had come down the chimney with presents to give,

                                Just a question that I have grappled with for a number of years.
                                I was raised in a dual religious household, meaning my grandmother taught me the Lakota spirituality AND the community we lived in pushed Catholicism at us in any way possible in an effort to recruit new members. Even at a young...
