  • Drafting

I was wondering, has anyone heard about a draft in the military coming up?
What is the age limit? I know back I think it was in 05' it was to the age of 28. do you think they will draft men before women? I am sort of worried about it because I don't think it is needed to draft people. I come from a military family but I am opposed to this political war.

Friend of mine once got a warning letter from the Selective Service Board for failing to be registered for the draft. The letter arrived via U.S. Mail and was delivered in his mailbox onboard USCGC POLAR SEA (WAGB-11), where he had been serving two of his eight years as a Coast Guard Petty Officer.

The ship's personnel officer had a good laugh when shown the letter...

You know I honestly hope I never get drafted now sice they can draft women. I don't think I would be able to make it after they send me out there. I think I am actually worried about this draft.

Ok about the draft, Rep. Rangel's (D, NY) bill to reinstate the draft failed. Although males are required to sign up for selective service IN CASE OF EMERGENCY, 1) the draft doesn't exist, adn 2) it doesn't affect females.

Now, Rep. Rangel want to try reinstate his bill again, but most members of his party are against the war, let alone the draft. And since they control Congress, i don't see it happening.
