Heres an out of the way topic to post. What kind of powwow dog do you have and if so do you take it powwowing? Right now I have a pug and a chihuahua but they dont like my cats so they now live at my parents. How sad.

There is a non-NDN "fan" of powwows who has been coming to powwows in the Northwest so long she's become sort of a powwow junkie. She brings her Palmeranian, which a few of us jokingly (or not so) threaten to throw into a big pot and make stew.

I have a rotty and a shepard/ dobie mix, but my dogs don't powwow because.. well, they're dogs.

LOL I did'nt know Paris Hilton powwows! Just kidding but that's the image in my mind I got thinking of someone out there dancing with a chihuahua in their beaded bag LOL!!

Back in 2005, I had a 9 yr. old rottie, I brought her to a few powwows. She really enjoyed them, she was a very spiritual , old soul. I had her since she was 8 weeks old. I had to put her down in August of 2005, she was diagnosed with bone cancer. She had a strong soul, every time I'd make an appointment with the vet, somehow, she'd know and would start acting up like a puppy and be very playful, I think in her own way she was telling me she wasn't ready. Then one day she knew it was time. So, I had to let her out of her misery and pain. It was hard, but, in her own way, she let me know it would be alright. She was very smart and was more understanding than you would think. She was very, very loyal to me and my partner. I will always miss her, I do keep her with me, I had her cremated along with her medicine bag, that we had made for her months before she went, and she wore it all along, which I believe helped her inner power of healing. I just hope, anyone out there, who has a four legged, listen intently, lovingly, and they are probably trying to communicate with you, just like our Mercy.

lol if she takes that dog up north, guaranteed, someone's gonna put it in a pot and add some corn for corn soup! LOL

I guess I don't look at dogs as companions. Mostly for eating. I am Cheyenne yanno.

Two Cheyennes were sitting in the breakroom of the Lucky Star Casino at lunch time. One of the Cheyennes pulls out a hot dog that his wife had packed for him.

He turns to the other Cheyenne and says "What part of the dog did you get? Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh!"

i got two Siberian Huskies are manic when they go out - so they don't go to pow wows. i also have a belgium giant rabbit who occassionaly goes with me but someone mentions something about bunny stew - we are soo out of there!

We don't take him to pow wows but we have a pitt bull that likes to go to pottery classes with my hubby. He just sleeps on the kick wheel while my hubby teachs the class how to do begining pottery. Ace never stumbles when he is woken up to come home after class no matter how many pots my husband has made while he slept on the wheel.
We would love to take him to pow wows but are afraid of peoples reactions, not to mention that he loves and expects to be petted by everyone he meets.

We have a pembroke Welsh Corgi named Jack Wash Cloth, 9 'o clock. wierd I know but he go's by Jack he's a tri color, just turned 1 the last part of Dec. He is such a joy loves not just my kids but any kid that may be with in ear shot! loves being at the bus stop and gettin all the lovins from the kids, we would like to get another one some day but Jack can be abit of ahand full at times lol but not too bad ,we have alot of right shoes in our home cause Jack go's for the left ones lol but he is gettin alot better. Oh and he dont pow-wow dont want the family to coomkem up!
