Make your daughters see the wisdom of dating/marrying DORKS not thugs. The most dangerous thing about Dorks is they just might kick too many people's tails on a video game or play GI Joe or Transformers with their kids. Or worse yet know way way too much about dinosaurs...

                    Revive this thread!

                    Boozhoo niji,

Wow its been some time since I have visited this thread. Been really busy with just life in general and still not gotten an internet connection into my new home.

OK so here goes. I feel sorry for Brent Michaels (sp?) right now, I hope he pulls through ok and rocks on.

Peter Steele of Type O Negative was found dead in his home, but I don't know if it was ruled suicide or foul play. I know he is not 80's hair metal, but... Type O is one of my favorite bands anyway. I don't know if they can replace their front man like AIC did, and still sound that great.

AIC, by the way, sounds really great with their new front man, cannot remember his name right off hand but I do look forward to getthing their new stuff.

I was just flipping through here briefly and saw a post where someone was mentioning punk, and how the punk of today is nothing like the 80's punk. I can't find the post, but here is the reply. I agree, but there are some really good bands out there still spilling out punk, not like Judas Priest, but still good, like Green Day and Offspring. Both of those bands have some really great songs, yeah they are softer and slower than JP but they still rock!

I find that I am getting softer and slower as I get older. Oh yeah I still crank up the volume, but here is an example... Anyone got RockBand 2? Anyone try to play drums on JP Painkiller in expert mode? Hehehe.. I lasted about 5 seconds.

Anyone else have any really good RockBand songs they love to play? I have two personal favorites, just because they are FUN!!! to play. The first is Rush, Tom Saywer, and the second is Black Sabbath, Paranoid. I like the drums better than the guitar, because that controller is a much better representation of a REAL instrument.

So c'mon people!!! I just gave you guys something new to chat about.

                    Derek

Funny you mentioned Rush - if I were making a list of favorite drummers Neal Peart would be at the top of it.

Did anybody mention Queensryche, "Silent Lucidity"?

I read through this entire string and no mention of

GIRLS, GIRLS, GIRLS the best example of Glam/Hair rock video of that era.

                        J. Geils Band hasn't been mentioned "Angel Is A Centerfold", etc.

Drums? Van Halen's "Hot For Teacher". Phil Collins "In The Air Tonight (Oh Lord)".

                        AC/DC "Thunderstruck".

                        AK:^)
