  • Cherokee Chiefs

I just read a thread in the spectators forum that made me think of this question....

Besides Chad "Corn Tassel" Smith, Mitchell Hicks and George G. Wickliffe -

Does anybody know any other active "CHEROKEE CHIEFS?"
Powwows will continue to evolve in many directions. It is inevitable.

      It's Michell Hicks.

What about Chief Stumbling Beaver of the Western Band of the Eastern Florida Cherokee Raven Clan? Does he count?

Whoa, wait wait wait.... wuh? lol
So is he of the Raven Clan of Western Band/Oklahoma Cherokees and he's a part of a group of Cherokees living in eastern Florida?

            OR

Do these eastern Florida Cherokees split up into a eastern and western band... and then these Floridians have there own clans?! AHHHH!!! Let's just stick to the original three groups of Cherokees pleeeease!

I think those state organization "chiefs" are just "the guys in charge" of the organization. In that case I think they should call themselves "president."

I mean the only chief I know is the Principal Chief.... and that's just a symbolic title for "the president of the Cherokee nation."

Other than that, the only other Cherokee chiefs I know of are out snagging the granddaughters of Cherokee princesses.

I have been assigned a college research paper that must be done on a culture to which I do not belong. I chose the Cherokee. I would need to ask a couple of question about the culture (what you do, what the social norms are, any particular group of things that are special to the tribe, etc.)
