    Teen Vogue features Native girl. Nov.07 issue

    My lil sister Leela Abrahamson is in the November 2007 Teen Vogue issue. I am very proud of her, she has been through so much. Since we were all in the car accident that took the lives of my late husband Daryl Jack and my 4 year old daughter Maliah jack, she has managed to stay strong and keep her head up.
    Leela almost died in that accident to, the docs said that if she were out on that interstate ten minutes more she would've been gone. Yet she has managed to be an outstanding honor student in highschool. She won a 10,000 scholarship for college (in a state-wide veterans essay), she is on a youth violence committee and she plays basket ball as well as Fancy Shawl dances. She is feature in the "my life " section of teen vogue. Please support the whole concept of Teen Vogue using a "real" ndn girl in the media and get one today. Yes they did mess up some of her story..I think their idea of what she said may have been missed a lil..BUT THE ARTICLE IS GREAT!!!

                    My oldest daughter graduated grade 8 today. She goes to a public school while I homeschool my other children.

                    Anyway I am very proud. I am sure others have kids graduating both grade 8 & 12 as well as college and universilty...so share your pride here!
