I just wanted to say "Thank you!" again to everyone for their prayers, thoughts and good wishes for my Ginger. She is doing well now, and we hope she will continue to do so. Thank you!

Aww you guys...*blush*...lol...work has been crazyness for the last couple months or so...it's getting to the point where I'm glad to go to a conference to slow down a bit.

For now there is no replacement for my Gus Gus...LBW and I have decided to wait until the beginning of next year before I get another little dog to share my time with...I'm thinking I'll stay with the Chihuahua breed tho...maybe get a little girl this time...

Anyways, that's what's going on with me...lol...hope everyone else and their family members (2 or 4 legged) are doing well too...

I...don't quite now how to put this into words...
Yesterday I had to put my kitty Patches to sleep.
She had Basel Cell Carcinoma, and it had spread, and I didn't have the money for chemo and radiation therapy.
She'd had surgery to remove it, but it just came back.
She was 16, and I've had her since she was only a few weeks old.
I've never had to do this before.
I feel like a piece of my heart's been ripped-out.

When it's time to get another pet, you'll know. After I had my previous cat put down it took me close to 2 years before I was "ready."

I've always found female pets easier to raise than males, but that's just me.

I'm so sorry for your loss. People who aren't "pet people" don't understand. Losing a pet can be like losing a child. Be sure and allow yourself to mourn.

I found the following prayer/blessing for deceased pets online. With only a little change it is appropriate for most/all beliefs:

[Blessed art Thou, Lord our God, King of the Universe],
We bring You our grief in the loss of Patches and ask for courage to bear it.

We bring You our thanks for Patches who lived among us and gave us freely of her love.

We commit our friend and companion Patches into Your loving hands.

Give us eyes to see how Your love embraces all creatures and every living thing speaks to us of Your love.

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss Bodica...

I completly agree with RDNKJ...losing a pet is prolly one of the top worst things to happen to a "pet-family". I know I still cry for my little one from time to time and it does feel like losing a child.

Take heart Bodica...the loss you're feeling is something we all have experienced at some point. You will get thru this...you're in my thoughts! :)

ApacheFire, that first pic scared me at first! (I thought the hole was a fly! )! I don't think Kema had any hot pants. I do remember his sailor suit, though!

When she first got him, grandma was gonna be all "old school" and use cloth diapers. That didn't last long. Trying to figure out how to pin a diaper on a monkey with a prehensile tail (the end of their tails have a "fingerprint" by the way) was too much. She went to disposable (with a hole cut for the tail) real quick!

sorry everyone for not being here since forever it seems. i had one huge computer crash! this is the first night i have been able to get online.

this sure has been a super hard year thus far, for many of us with the loss of many of our pet companions. my heart still aches for my little ones who never got to see their first year birthdays. i miss my boys right now more than ever, with plans for moving and them being buried in the front of this property i tried to raise them on. rest in peace BEAR, TROOPER, & CHEYENNE. LIL DUDE where ever you are i hope you are alive and happy. same for you RUSTY, & RAVEN.

p.s. i found something out about people who are controling abusers. they take it out on your pets. so if you find that a number of your pets go missing or die, look out for any others that you may want to get later. after seeing a pattern, i know i have to move before i dare get another companion.

my heart weeps with all of you who have lost your companions and friends.
