GREETINGS EVERYONE. im so sorry that i hadnt been keeping up with this thread. a few of you regulars to powwows.com know why.
i am starting to settle down a bit in my new place. still no time for a pup yet. not to mention the extra cost for keeping one in my new place. but when the time comes, and it will, it will be a RESCUE DOG of course. ive been thinking on it so hard that i have a couple of pages of dog names.

anyway, i am hoping the few regulars will help me keep this place going. i really do love dogs and i know many of you out there have pets and love them just as much. so i hope you keep using PET CHATTER to talk aobut them.
and of course, WELCOME to all the NEWBIES and their pets!

My bratty kitties

My papa kitty Lucius, Mamma kitty Minerva, their son Bruce and my little adopted Siamese, Mia.
These are some truly spoiled, clingy kitties. Especially Bruce. Poor guy gets separation anxiety when I'm gone.
We just moved into a new, bigger house and my cats have been tearing through the house at top speed since we moved in. Anybody got any ideas on how to calm hyper kitties?

hmm, i am not really a cat person, but i would find a nice quiet small room to put some familiar toys in with their water, food and bed and then give them lots of lovin over a few days. maybe later take them out, one at a time, carrying them and introducing them to the house one room at a time all the while talking to them calmly while petting them.

One of mine, Mafalda, has just learned she can open my closet door - the one place I don't let them go, of course.

*Long nerdy naming story alert*

He is so named because when he was a kitten he used to look like a soccer ball when he slept. In grad school, I took spectroscopy from one of the chemists who co-discovered C60 and co-proposed the truncated icosahedron structure. This guy had a soccer ball (also a truncated icosahedron) fetish. He had all these wind-up soccer balls with legs in his office. We used to have to clear them out of the way to set our books down for class. When I saw the cat sleeping in the shelter with his little legs sticking out of the ball of cat, I thought of those dang toys. So naturally he is Bucky Ball after Buckminster Fullerene (C60).

with two and four…i would think he looks like dice when he is moving around. AND…RDNKJ…would you please translate what OLCHEMIST just said above? maybe i am too tired, or just too ignorant..but i only understood a few words, and not the meaning.
