The worst of the night was the gal trying to sound like patsy cline.... OMG my head hurt! I had to turn her off! You know she's to be the first to go from the gals. And now we also know that Simon not only hates country music but most of the music from the sixties LOL!
Our first two that we think will go were the first two to sing last night
    not very memorable
I think Asiah will make it to the finals
    Mark my words
Now watch she is the first to go tonight
    LOL

    The rocker chick Amanda
    And Carly the irish chick
I wish they would not have a genre to pick from just let them sing..lol i know 60's is broad but dang...most of the these kids think 60's is 100 years old lol..most have never heard the song they picked.and i know it helps show their musical range.. but you have to like a song to be able to do it justice..

I'm really liking that Danny Noriega. He's more than a touch femme, but he's got stage presence and an awesome voice! I also like the rocker dude this year and the guy with the dreads although he seems like he's on a permanent high LOL! But I love the guy's voice and his face and the way he sings. I know Randy said the guy hit that note all off key but I kinda think that's how the guy did it on purpose to more or less shake it up a bit. There's been singers before who've done that and it's ok as long as the off note is'nt one that hurts the ears. I'd like to see him get rid of the dreads though.

Ok back on topic... the show tonight was excellent! And like Simon, I wanted to steal that puppy LOL!!! The plus sized model gal.. I loved her voice.. she's gonna be a contender in the top ten I predict. The Dolly Parton gal won't get into the final groupings but who knows... a country producer might snatch her up. She did have a cute voice with a nice tone to it.

Kiowakat- don't stop at grafton... go for the ferry ride back across to MO and there's all kinds of antique shops and preserves stands. That used to be one of my favorite things to do was just cruise the entire way up the river road... day or night.

NDNKIDZ- His name was Brian Mooney. He did'nt go to Wood River though.. he grew up in Elsah. I met him at LCCC where we were taking our art classes together. He was the same age as me. I have a copy of his obit from online. It was quite beautiful. And I understand people from all over came in for his funeral. He had a great many friends he made out there, not just the hometown favorites.

Back to him following his dream though. I thought I'd share this since I did'nt put it in memorials. A week ago I lost a good friend I made in college. This guy was something special I tell ya.. quit college with his best friend and they followed their dream which was to begin with, hitchhiking across the Americas. When they were done with that they worked to save up money and then hit Europe. They spent quite a few years in Ireland and France and would come home and visit.. just doing awesome all the time.
He liked to do charity work for charity organizations and that's what led him this past winter to Katmandu in Nepal to help build an orphanage. Last week he was found unconscious and without a pulse for no apparent reason out on the balcony of a resteraut he had been at and could not be revived. I STILL don't know what he passed from but he was only 38 and in great shape. His funeral was yesterday back in IL. He was from a small, probably one of the most beautiful little river road towns you'll ever see called Elsah. Kidz will know where I'm talking about since it's just north of Alton.

All I can say is he's gonna be extremely missed. He followed his dream and it took him around the world.. good for him!
sorry to hear about your friend BB i probably knew his name.. i knew alot of kids from wood river.. i will look in the town paper obits and see if i can find him..my daughter lives about 5 miles from elsah on top of the bluff.. just beautiful out there..
