The kids and I have watched that DVD Dreamkeeper a couple of times, and there were names like "Young Man Afraid of His Horses" and "Dirty Belly."

The whole idea is kind of absurd, though. Just giving someone an NDN name doesn't make them NDN, and not having an NDN doesn't make someone less NDN.

Most of the Chickasaw names from the old days that I've run across aren't likely to be pirated by some wannabe...like my many times great-uncles' names... Chooshemataha, Itawaba Minco, or Tootemastubbe.
