  • John McCains running mate >

How about some of you powwowers from Alaska telling us what you think of your Gov. since she is now running for Vice- President.
So far I like her, but have only heard of her today and liked her speach at the convention.
Courage is just fear that has said it's prayers.

obamas biggest drawback is hes never been a leader.. impressive resume, education, speaker all that but is that enough?

one of the campaign slogans i despise is 'change' or 'hope' and obama is running that exact campaign. so its hard for me to follow what hes doing because its plastered everywhere. since i was little i seen tribal, county, etc elections and it seems like change and hope equal alot of B.S. !! haha its crazy but promising change these days in public service is just obsurd.

so here comes Mrs Palin. she already has control over her own state which includes the nationial guard. Right? so she already has more leadership than obama ever had. big ole bonus points for that one Mr McCain. and then maybe not.. Because after snow, polar bears etc. the other thing Alaska is known for is oil. haha and alot it. enough to have your own world famous pipeline. that kind of oil.
thanks dad for showing me the way, teaching me the language, and not leaving my mother...*L*

Okay....like everyone doesn't know I'm a democrat. *L* I think minority republicans is an oxy moron, etc. I was surprised to hear he picked a woman for a running mate. The woman has been Gov' for two years...that's it...she's been mayor before then but come on?? If something happened (God forbid) to either man as prez...would you rather have Biden as Prez who's been in poilitics and has excellent foreign relations...or a woman who was gov' for two years....is it really that hard of a choice?

I think it's cool though, that no matter who they are if you vote this year...you HAVE to vote for a minority! *L* either a black man, or a woman!

Oh, what really irritates me about her though, is her willingness to drill in the Alaskan Wildlife Refuge.....can't imagine how she got chosen...........

Several articles I've read are calling Palin's husband one eight Native American or Yupik Eskimo. That's interesting that he's already being described as such.

I'm pretty shocked that someone with so little experience was chosen. Two years ago, she was a mayor of a small town. McCain criticizes Obama for lacking experience and then picks a woman with even less experience. Flip flopping, oh no!

Palin wouldn't be my first choice but I would rather have a conservative woman as a VP than Obama for president any day.

OK, here goes, as a Native American and Native Alaskan woman, that resides in Alaska... John McCain chose well, HOWEVER, when it comes down to it Sarah Palin is just eye-candy and window dressing. She has been a good governor so far for our state, which has over the years been wrapped up in a lot of corruption. I did not vote for her; as she is what I consider a fundamentalist christian and anti-abortionist(all situations). Besides these two points, I've been supportive of her being our new governor, because of the work she has accomplished thus far. I told my husband that is just a matter of time before the dirt start coming out about her, as she is currently being investigated for her part in getting rid of a state trooper(Monnegan) who was head of Alaska Law Enforcement. Monnegan; who is native Alaskan, was let go, as they say for personal reasons due to pressures put on him by her(Sarah Palin) govt. office. Its for them to decide where this investigations go; but I feel she is not ready for this position at this time. It goes to show how pannicked and threatened McCain and the other republican party are at this time.

I really dont think experience matters, after they are elected they hire the experienced people to tell them what to do. IE-Bush didnt hire someone too good.

As for Palin, yeah, it is a ploy to get votes from women and natives.

But I like that she is pro-NRA. But she is a devout christian? some doubts there.

She looks good on paper but will she crack under the pressure?

                  ????

A mother of 5 children.....and she's gonna leave them to be our VP. She's gonna leave her little 4 month old that has downs syndrome to campaign with McCain and possibly be the next VP of the USA; how selfish! Her little boy needs her.

And what kind of foreign policy/exposure has she had, that's what I'm concerned about. We'll see how she does in the one and only VP debate on 10/2/08.

And one more thing-I'm tired of hearing that Obama is a black man......well he's just as much white as he is black!

Well........I was a little surprised, I just hope he made a good decision.....but for democrats to think that all minorities should be democrats have lost their marbles....(to be put in a nice manner)......I choose who I vote for and I choose which ticket I want to be on....depending on what I see for myself and what I like in that individual.....

Anyway, I guess we'll have to wait and see what she's made of in the next few months.....

Oh one other thing.....for the navajos....I don't know if anyone else seen this as well, but have you noticed how the local politicians who are running for office are using the "Change" and "Hope" slogans????.....LOL!!!!......I just think that's hilarious.......anyway.........

Honestly I see picking Palin as VP comes down to an attempt to gain some of the Clinton supporter's votes. I heard a lot of women saying they would vote for Hilary based comepletely on the fact that she is a woman and nothing else. I asked a couple what they thought about her position on this or that and they had no idea what I was talking about. The only thing that was important to them was.....she was a woman. Will this work for McCain......we shall see
The things you are doing today are the traditions of twenty-five years from now.

here on the navajo nation the biggest counties apache *mines* in az and mckinley in nm are democratic strongholds within the U.S. theres almost no reason to campaign here because just overwhelmingly the people continue to vote democratic.

ahh all the candidates are democratic on the ballots, of course there is exceptions.. we had a congressmen named rick renzi who is a republican and somehow just clicked with navajos. he made it a point to bulld roads and schools and set up shop in window rock the navajo "capital" haha cool and then he goes and pulls some shady deals elsewhere forcing him outta reelction. oh well it was nice while it lasted.
