Probably a pizza with "everything". I don't get too traditional with pilgrim holidays I guess.

LOL! Yeah, marshmallows, OJ and sweet taters aren't my favorite combo - I'd rather drink the OJ and put the marshmallows in the Cranberry Ambrosia

Thanks for the link. The recipe has interesting ideas.... maybe I'll candy some pecan halves and try those as a "center" along with the Kidz lemon juice idea or try using a chunk of pineapple for the center (and use pineapple juiceinstead of a citrus juice).

Any holiday that is centered around food and is a day off where work WON'T call me is a good thing.

Seriously, I appreciate this time of year - between Nov 1 and Jan 1, and it's got nuthin' to do with chimook holy days. It's the time of the year where grocery prices aren't absurd for staples and consequently it's my "stock up" time. Flour, sugar, spices, dried fruits: all this stuff is on sale. Heck even maple syrup (the real kind) is on sale. We buy 6 months to a year's worth of these sorts of things.

The late fall and early winter is when meat prices go down - beef, pork and poultry. I like turkey - and right now it's less than 50 cents a pound. We picked up a second hand freezer about 10 years ago and it has more than paid for itself. Between now and next Nov 1, we will eat all 6 of the turkeys I got this week to put in that freezer.

Now I am patiently waiting for ham/bacon/pork prices to hit the "right price"..........
