American Idol's New Format

Did anyone like the new format?

People like Stevie Wright are screwed. She bombed last night. But in the old format, she probably would have been given another week. After a couple of weeks she could have overcome her nerves and might have made the tour.

Or Ricky Braddy. He hasn't gotten any features up to now. So no one knows him. He's put in a group with Anoop and Danny--two favorites from Hollywood week. Even with Ricky's great performance, he is an under dog to make it through today.

That's what I was thinking myself.... not feeling much love for any of the contestants yet. I like the new judge though!

i kinda figure the show can edit anything, up to a certain point, on the show. mainly because everything is already in the can. if they wanted to emphasize more on the judges or the contestants they can do that. if they wanted to show a lighter side or darker side *i think* its entirely possible. i dont doubt what youre seeing pre selected based on a "magical" haha idol committee

anyways im not feeling anything from the show now. its just there. directtv has free NBA channels now and im all over that!

Of course after these 3 weeks of narrowing it down by viewer voting there will be 9 finalists, and the judges will be able to bring back 3 that didn't receive enough votes. Maybe they'll bring her back just to irritate us.

I don't mind the new format - kind of makes it more suspenseful and puts more pressure on the singers to be on their game every night. I was surprised that Anoop didn't get through. Didn't like that girl that made it the other night. No real strong favorite yet, but I do kind of like Michael Sarver's sound.

Somehow I thing they will bring Tatiana back. At least now we will have a good reason to throw popcorn at the screen. But you must admit that she can sing.

The cute little girl Alxexis reminds me of when Pat Bennatar was just starting out in Cleveland. I did a lot of sound work for Pat and her husband, Neal so she is one of my favorites.

Mike is a good old boy just like Trace Atkins. Comes from hard working roots. He is going to go far.

Dennie has funky looking nerd glasses that make me laugh but he sure can sing well.

Yep - I'll have to make a double batch of popcorn for that night. Even my daughters wanted that one gone.
