  • Wedding Rings & Native Men...

One day my sister and i were talking about why her husband doesn't wear his wedding ring. He said he doesnt wear it cuz he doesnt wear it. Well, she wears hers and god-forbid if she doesnt wear it, he gets his shorts in a tangle!! LOL. After we were talking about this, i started to notice that alot of the married native guys dont wear a Wedding Ring either.

Just being nosey as to why most native guys dont wear a wedding ring, but the wife does.

For u ladies who wear the Ring...wud u take it off just to see if He notices it???? LOL...

You Win Some, You Lose Some...All the same to me.

    I'm not married

but I do have to say, I look for a ring right away. It's habit for me. You could be 80 and I'll still look for a ring! LOL

And I have to say, no ring has led me to believe that the person is not married and I tend to find out otherwise later; either by them mentioning they're married or someone else telling me.

I'd like to know why some don't wear a ring.

I wear a Gold band on my left hand, and until 2 years ago I wore a Silver band on my right hand (it must have shrunk). I still have to beat them off with a stick......

My husband doesn't wear a ring because he is an industrial mechanic, and he could snag that ring in a machine.... most people that I know who are heavy equipment operators or work in fields like my husband don't wear rings.. Jim will occasionally put ring on and wear it or his other rings, but not for very long because he is not used to wearing them.... My brothers both wear a wedding band....

From years of watching people it doesn't matter of the man or the woman is wearing a ring!! To some people a ring just means it is more of a challenge....

I wear my rings when I go out of the house, but around home I don't wear them. My rings are opal and silver and they don't like household cleaners, or to be wet for long periods of time. The stone damages easily and I would be devastated if something happened to it.... You should have seen me crawling on the floor crying and trying to find the stone from one of the opal earrings that Jim gave me on our fist Valentine's day....

Shawnee OK 1989 we're singing and a friend is recording the PW (with a video cam) So we head home and whip out the tape of the Powwow and not 10 minutes into the tape muh bro's wife (at the time) and my Aunt notice my bro and my Uncle are ringless.....See they cupped their ears when they sing, and you know women have that eagle eyesight.....Well they peered right at those ringless hands cupped on those ears....Mind you out of all the movement on that tape they see ringless fingers!

Ain't been back to Shawnee since.....

wedding rings are soo dangerous! i do electrical and mechanical work and i found the answer. its so cool, to me anyways, that a thin black silicone o ring can be so awesome. it totally isnt gucci, prada but to people who know it makes alot of sense. it doesnt conduct electric, its flexible, and if it snags and breaks.. big deal 2cents down the drain.

haha you guys are welcome to borrow my idea

rings are 'almost' meaningless to a chic who wants you anyways huh?
thanks dad for showing me the way, teaching me the language, and not leaving my mother...*L*

I've seen Marines wear rolled black electrical tape in lieu of their rings due to tactical purposes....(it wasn't tactical to wear a shiny gold ring, LOL)......IMO, if you love someone why should you have to prove it by wearing or doing something???....I think that if you love and respect your significant other than that should be enough to prove your love.....to me, IMO, just a waste of money.......LOL!!!......but if you go out the wire and fool around, then you deserve to get yo azz beat......LOL!!!.......

to add to injunboys post.....in the industrial world, you are not allowed to wear rings or any type of loose clothing/jewelry due to safety hazards......and considering most natives guys work in the industrial enviroment, it would make sense they wouldn't wear rings because after working all day without anything on your finger, it takes a long time to get accustomed back to it......
