Let's see,...My favorite Native novels are Grass Dancer, Grand Avenue, Love Medicine among others; My favorite Native poets are Luci Topahonso, Simon Ortiz, Adian C. Louis, Howard Rainier, ; My favorite Native scholars are Vine Deloria Jr., Daniel Wildcat, Dr. Cornel Pewewardy, Winona LaDuke and many others.

I love Native Literature...

I also do read romance novels and my favorite authors are Virginia Henley, Connie Mason, Bertrice Small and Sophie Jordan.

Anything, and everything.
While I'm not really into murder mysteries, I did make an exception for Tony Hillerman's "Joe Leaphorn" series.
It's about a contemporary Navaho (well, Dine' actually) tribal police officer named Joe Leaphorn, who's a modern cop who doesn't realy believe in the old ways.
But when cases with things like Skinwalkers start turning up, then he's not so sure.
I've only got the "The Blessing Way" JL novel so far.
I knew about this series for a long time, but I wasn't interested, until I saw 3 of the JL novels turned into movies, on PBS.
I think they're great.

Virtually every Native person that has pursued a career, especially an academic career, in science has written a variety of journal articles. (My own CV lists a half a dozen technical -- and to those outside the field, obscure and astonishingly boring -- publications on photophysics and instrument design.) In addition to a vast number of journal articles, there are textbooks and technical book with Native authors. That said at 4 am, I'm not recalling the titles of anything in the popular science genre written by a Native, which does not mean that such do not exist.

This is not to say that Native people are not unrepresented in the hard sciences. The "pipeline", as my profession's largest professional organization says, leaks. The reasons are numerous and complex -- and fairly off topic for this thread.

i got some stuff here on pws.com that you may like. i dont know how to do links but its in introductions under read this or else. ill see if i can put it on top of the pile so u can read it. lots of autobio stuff but interesting
