Ignorant Co-Workers....

Ya know...I work with some ignorant a** people!! I try to over look some things but some stuff I can't..I've had little comments here and there made to me...I just laugh it off because it's out of ignorance that people say some of the things they say, but today....this dumb biotch pissed me off!!! I was walking downstairs in the tunnel on my way to get some breakfast, when I happen to pass two of my co-workers...now just some fyi I do work for the white man, i am a state worker....Any how the one (white..caucasian..what have you) co-worker of mine looked at me and asked me if i've had any powwows...I looked a little confused, like what did she say??? A powwow??? hmm??? I guess she saw the confusion on my face and said, "did you have a powwow or something lately...your hair looks a little darker and different?" Are you freaking serious...did you really just ask me that....What is it...Do i look more Indian or Native today...more so then I normally do?? WTF??? I haven't even been here in a week...I was off work all last week with two sick kiddos and i come back to some ignorant bullsh**...are you freakin kidding me...I guess I'm just in a bad mood and this just really pissed me the f*** off...this lady is some kind of ignorant and has no idea how to talk to people....i mean i have my hair pulled back in a pony tail and it's pulled to the front....is this a stereotypical perception white people have of indians or native americans...dark hair in a pony tail...i mean i can just imagine if i had an outfit on and looked as if I just came from a dance....This dumb biotch might have wanted to take a picture of me...lol...I wanted to say...yeah you dumb biotch....that's why it rained all last night, because i was dancing my a** off at a powwow....like i said, i work with some ignorant a** folks.....God Bless!!!! Now I'm so pissed I can't even eat...I need to go home....lol =)

i work for the ute tribe in colorado . . . and let me tell you, these ppl are so self-centered, OMG!! its always 'tribal members' this or tribal members that . . and if i dont stand at attention when a "tribal member" comes into the office, i always get the 'you navajos need to leave our land' or some other stupid coment. it makes me laugh. but recently, there was a general meeting here and the tribal members were in an uproar about us navajo's. they want the chairman and council members to "kick" all the navajos off the ute rez . . . . if they do that, then whos gonna get the job done. 55% of the tribal employees are navajos. and the population will go down, cause those workers are also tribal spouses. I swear . . . just cause they get that extra $125 a month , they think they can walk all over everyone.

LOL... I was just at a powwow over the weekend and mine is still as brown with the red highlights as it was before I left the house...

Sooooooo you are a state employee, too. I work with a lot of dumb people so maybe it's a trade off for the high pay and regular raises we get. NOT.....

But I have had 2 close calls with my patience level and idiotic comments from co-workers over the past month. I thought it was just cause my preggo hormones are off the chart but now I feel like it really is the "others."

Dang.....I kicked a chair a few weeks ago. Went all hulk so maybe I will try coming here and venting next time. It's not like they will fire me, tho. I made it off probation 8 years ago. lmao.

The GS-2's in the offices have some serious power over us
Just turn in a form without having a copy of it
You will pay dearly for that because they will lose it twice!!!
Fortunately I am ex-military so I keep several copies of the most important papers.
Then they can lose it 3 times

oh ive been there...done that as the saying went.

i used to work for lyle waggoner. you know, that actor from the carol burnett show? (mebbe afore yer time....)

i got chit all the time. i was one of two females in the office. the office 'honcho' was a close friend of mr waggoner. they said some really dumb stuff all the time. i couldnt believe they were for real.

the office manager was always asking me if i was on peyote. could i get him some. chit like that. even waggoner asked me about sweathouses and how he paid so much to 'have it done' when he was 'out west'. waggoners son worked for him....get this...as the guy who cleaned out the toilet tanks in the movies star portable dressing rooms. he was always trying to be cute with practical jokes like leaving a 'fake' turd on my paperwork in my desk. sheesh.

Thanks ok24stacey...Yeah, I was just not in the mood this morning...I think this time change had me on biotch mode...lol...Yeah, I have 10 yrs invested in this place. So her ignorant comments I have to just over look, later the crazy lady had problems with the printer and had the nerve to ask me if I could help her...I was like I have no idea whats wrong with it...I sent stuff to ithat printer and it printed my stuff just fine...lol

Oh yeah, congrats on being prego...I had major hormone problems when I was prego with my daughter....my poor hubby and son couldn't wait for me to have the baby...Mine were worse since i had to also take hormone shots for the first 5 mths. So God Bless you and your baby!!

You would think that "Caucasion Okies" that have lived here there entire life would know what a powwow is!

I am speechless at the level of ignorance that I see everyday!!!

Well I'm feeling a lot better today! I'm enjoying everyone’s comments and own stories...I hope everyone has a good day today...I know I will I brought my husband's bow and arrow today so watch out...lmao...aye, I joke...I prayed for that woman last night and all my other co-workers! I work with a lot of older white people....they are all a little ignorant and nose in the air type...I am like the youngest one in this department, but sometimes it doesn't seem like it how childish and petty these people can be...lol...I know that probably happens at every work place at one time or another, but these people are crazy up here!!

So have a good day everyone...I guess I am just blessed and thankful to have a job to come to everyday...it may not be the greatest, but I have 10 yrs here. Just thankful I am able to work and have a job with all that is going wrong with the business and economy!!
