you might have a tough time there as well.. there are I think 3 mohawk reserves...

    Akwasasne
    Tyendinaga
    Oka
and then there are Many Mohawks on the Grand River (six nations) reservation.

You might want to try going to some of the Mohawk and Iroquois boards and asking about the name in thier geneology threads. See if anyone knows those names.

Uhm.. but I gotta ask.. if you are supposed to be mohawk or something, why you calling yourself LakotaJingle???

Youre only 14 eh? I'll be nice. I don't have any info about your grandparents but good luck finding out what tribe they were from. After you check with the Mohawks and Menominee, you may wanna check the Cherokee tribal records. A lot of people have great grandparents who were Cherokee so I'd recommend looking there too.

Before I go I have one question...
If you were told you were Mohawk, and you were told you were Menominee, but you don't actually know what you might be... why is your screen name lakotajingledancer? Just curious.

We're currently out of electric power. It may take anywhere from 7-21 days before power is restored. We experienced fierce winds of about 75-80 mph. There were 3 tornadoes in the vicinity of the reservation. Many power lines, trees, and other debris were down everywhere.

              Evacuation...

              by Tanya2012
My entire life, I've been told that I'm 1/2 Choctow although my dad and mom aren't full-blooded. As far as I know, my paternal grandma might be 3/4 or 1/2 herself(my dad & Aunt are noticeably darker than their siblings)& it's been rumored that Quanah Parker's even an ancestor of ours(Parker's...

              Dawes Rolls
              by Josiah
Probably the most common Question I am asked is:
I looked up my Ancestor and could not find them on the Dawes Rolls.

The Dawes Rolls are probably the most misunderstood and misquoted roll in the history of Indian Rolls!
Ok, to understand the Roll and what its telling you...

Okay was repling to Annie Deer's - things to think about at pow wows, and got off on a tangent- so here goes.

The Dawes Act. Was supposed to "help" the natives by assilmilating them into the white culture. It broke up reservations into family plots and handed them out to...
