Fee-Free Weekends

Two more free weekends waive entrance fees this summer July 18-19 and August 15-16.


Admission to Grand Canyon National Park is for seven daysand includes both the North Rim and South Rim. No refunds are given due to inclement weather.

Grand Canyon National Park Vehicle Permit- $25.00
Admits one single, private, non-commercial vehicle and all its passengers. Organized groups are not eligible for the vehicle permit.

Grand Canyon National Park Individual Permit - $12.00/person
Admits one individual when entering by foot, bicycle or motorcycle. Individuals 15 years old and younger are admitted free of charge.

Visitors to the South Rim can purchase entrance permits at the park entrance stations - or at select locations prior to entry.

This was just yesterday! a 400 mile round trip up from the valley where it was 113 to a cool 85 environment. Got rain on the ride back.

Cool trip! I haven't been to the canyon is 30 years.

Yellowstone Park also had a free entrance weekend. Of course we always try to get in by just showing our tribal id's. Usually works...just can't say your coming to the park to gather anything. Last time we were detained and they wanted us to speak to the park superintendent. After waiting about an hour they finally let us through as long as we wouldn't remove anything.

The last time I went was in 1996, I believe. I wouldn't mind going back there again. It was so serene.
