Should Marijuana be legalized?

My opinion? Well yeah I think it should be legalized. If alchohol is legal...why not Marijuana?

If a consenting adult wants to smoke weed. I think that is acceptable. It is a matter of choice.

the thing is... ANYTHING one does in excess causes damage... drinking, smoking (WEED), lifting weights, tylenol, running, drinking too much water.

Moderation is the key. :)

The thing about that is the controversey is if you legalize it, it will open the doors for other schedule I or schedule II drugs. Like the kind of drugs that are over used and abused are in these classes, like cocaine and stuff.

The fact of the matter is the government would loose money if they legalized it, they would make it a low crime as far a conviction then maybe charge to sell government marijuana. They make more money convicting people, and arresting people for possesion. If it was legalized they say that they could charge a fee for smoking and possesing marijuana, and sell government marijuana at a price isn't bringing any more money than just convicting people for it.

Like peote is only allowed to be picked at certain times and tribal members of a certain tribe can be allowed to use this. It is for religious purposes, The politics of marijuana is it is good for medicinal uses, and for those that are high strung but the abuse factor is too "scary" for the government.

Yet they allow morphine and other opiates to be in hospitals and medical facilities for back pain or what ever they think pain is and a little mary jane can get you arrested. There could be another source to justify these means. They use marijuana for anorexia and easing nausea in cancer patients, I have found that it also helps menopausal women.

In alaska they legalized medical marijuana and there's some loophole in the laws that state that you can have legally no more than 4 oz of marijuana in the home for personal use. But federally it's still illegal to possess and to grow...

I say all of us who live in the states move to alaska!!! or Canada...

Heck we got to go to Canada to buy all our drugs these days. Even the legal ones...just to get a decent price. Watch out Columbia ....here comes Canada.

I think it is all about choice...where any drug is concerned. If we say abortion is about a womans choice then why doesn't an adult have the choice to take drugs?

Don't get me wrong...Hard drugs scare the hell out of me....but marijuana...c'mon

I think Jay is onto something there about the government losing money.
