Been keeping tabs on some of the other transplants as well... lots of our guys and gals have been returning home with horrific injuries and news of being able to transplant faces, legs and arms after a significant time as an amputee is encouraging for them.

I think it's just great! I never understood the initial reluctance on the first face transplant for that French woman whose face was bitten off in a dog attack. While I understand that it would certainly be a psychological shock to look in the mirror and see someone else's face - it's gotta be better than having no face at all!
I never knew him, he died before I was born, but my Mom had a cousin who was in a chemical fire. If only he could've gotten a face transplant after that - his life probably would've been a lot better.
As long as all the consents are in order, I say - transplant, baby, transplant!!!sigpicComment

i fully agree that any transplant we can do for our military is great to have as something to offer. however, when i first read about it…i was reminded of that movie “face off”. where the criminal took the officers face and put his on the officers. just made me think about how this country seems to always put the cart before the horse, if you know what i mean.
i always feel they should stop to think about the “what ifs” and “what could be”…and have conjectures to make the guidelines/rules/laws BEFORE the problems arise.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
