  • 2 questions: one about ancestry& one about love.

okay, so i have 2 questions: i know i am 1/8 Navajo& 1/8 Apache. i really would like to connect with my blood somehow.. where can i find pow-wows or more information on Native American culture in my area (Washington State) or Navajo/Apache events that i can travel to?

secondly, i feel bad for asking this.. but i have always dreamed of having a Native American husband that i can share my culture with.. am i crazy or in the wrong for feeling this way? i know i shouldn't base my relationships or attraction based on race, but i feel this "calling" to be with someone that looks Native because i want dark children, and cares about the customs that i care about! am i crazy? should i try and get over it, or is this normal? lol.. sorry this is kind of a weird post :]

Powwows won't give you what your family can. Find your Navajo and Apache family first. That's how you will best connect.

Post a picture of your beadwork skills!

Just kidding. Do you have a sense of humor?

Why must I feel like that..why must I chase the cat?

          well..

seeee, that's the problem. i know my birth family, but it's kind of a complicated situation and they are all spread out. none of us live together or really even near each other, and none of my family really practices Navajo or Apache life. that's why i want to know more!

i mean, my brother and my mom speak Najavo, and i think it's beautiful and really unique. he tried to teach me this poem about a little sister being watched over by a big Eagle who was her brother, but i was pretty little and so it was hard for me to remember at the time. i'd really like to learn more about my past and get involved somehow, but i don't think my family's the right way to turn, because my grandparents are dead& my mom doesn't speak about it. i don't know if that's because something happened that she doesn't like to remember or if she doesn't know much about it. idk :[ ..

by the way, about cooking/beading skills, idk what that means haha.
