  • The Cali fires

My thread"Pray for us in Cali" was moved to the Prayer Circle. So if any of you have any info on the local tribes down here please post. A number of others have been asking me about Rezratforlife and Jingle Genie, how they are doing. I haven't heard from them yet. There have been lots of evacuations down where they live. Along with road closer's. I've heard of one casino burning down, I haven't heard the details yet. As soon as I'm aware of them I'll post them on here. I hope Superndngurl has some news too.

A friend of a friend of mine.. lives near San Diego. (A Kumeyaay native... ) I haven't chatted with him in a long time but... still.. He mentioned that his rez was near that area. I hope they can get the fires under some sort of control. :( Looks scarey!!.. All that smoke and ash all over.
~* Keep smiling, it makes people wonder what you're up to *~

My family made it safe away and is staying in Motels. They're from the Barona Rez. Some of the houses on the rez were burned including some friends' houses.

I heard that Viejas casino burned too.

Glad to hear about your family being ok super!!!!! Anyone hear anything from Jingle Geanie or RezRat? What about Native_5_0? I think she's from that area too or at least works in that area.

A couple of old friends of mine lost their house on the Barona Rez, the LaChapas. Sucks man.

I also saw where some houses in my old neighborhood in Scripps Ranch were burned.
It is so sad that a family can torn apart by something as simple as a wild pack of dogs.

                            Oh mi god Viejas

Thats my uncle's rez, how horrible. Even though I live down here, all they show are the L.a fire and fires to the east of us. So it's hard to get info on the ones south of here. Glad to here Super's family is ok. I've herad Santa Isabel rez now on fire. Campo on fire too. San Diego county has 15 rez's, most or I should say all of them in remote area's and in the path of most of these fires down there.:Cry

I have noticed the prevalence of SPD or stupid plot devices. You know those nonsensical turns of event that can tank even the best movie/show for even the most avid viewer.

One of the biggest ones that I have noticed was in the last Star Wars. People, I think Star Wars rocks. Not...

I have read a bunch of stuff on button blankets from the northwest coast but still am lacking on info of how they were made.

Is the red border a certain thinkness for certain robes? have seen everything from a few inches to about 8 inches.

I am fortunate in that my ancestors were early settlers in Wisconsin, and are often mentioned in early texts/histories (one wrote his own memoirs.), as is their native heritage. However, there is some conflicting information regarding which tribe one of my ancestors came from. So, one question I have...
