I'm hearing that Yarnell is gone? over 200 homes gone.

This fire is of coarse recieving the news due to the level of tragedy. But please remember that other fires still burn in Az and we have high winds moving in. Please pray for yarnell. The families of Yarnell. Especially the families of the deceased firefighters and hold Arizona in prayer. We are battling many fires.

thank you for posting this Joe's Dad.

I saw the Camarillo Springs Fire within half hour of when it started. Looked like a trash can was on fire. It burned over 28,000 acres in just a couple of days.

Be careful in those dry, changing conditions.

We had a small wild fire here last night. Fortunately, the folks that are our volunteer FFs managed to get it under control by midnight.

I hate when I see a moron throw a lit cigarette butt out of their car window when the conditions are dry. It can takes days to get the fire it causes back under control.

My prayers for the sould lost and the families to bear the grief.

My heart, prayers, and thoughts go out to the family, friends, and fellow firefighters of the those who lost their lives.

And to those who continue to fight, that they be kept safe until the work is finished.

Weather conditions were extreme over the weekend with high winds in a severely dry area. Yarnell is directly over the mountains west of me and it is a nice area to ride through with it's mountain-grade curvy roads.

We had cloud cover all afternoon yesterday and it appeared like there were thunderstorms to the west and northwest. Apparently, this was a fire caused by lightening.

Late in the night, there was an alert for a sandstorm moving through the Phoenix metro area. The environment 40 miles north of Phoenix was marred with blue smoke and the murky brown color of the dust particles still high in the air.

It will be a long summer.

                      A long and dangerous summer.

This is so somber as they bring the bodies into Phoenix. I ran an errand and noticed that people out and about are silent. What a devastating time for Az.
And the sky is overcast already and again. God keep us safe,God bring your comfort.

We have the same conditions here... despite the recent flooding to the west and south.

We've had a fire ban on since April and even with all the rain we had in the last month the soil is now bone dry again.

The Thunder people are quite active here and along with them and the wind folks, a fire gets whipped up pretty fast.

We had three alarms go off last night... wild fire, tornado and flash flooding... all within 4 hours of each other. It's crazy. The FFs are always on the move.

This story made me very sad when I saw it on the news.My heart goes out to their loved ones.
A few years ago when almost the entire South was burning, we had a lot of FF from out West come to help. They appreciated the fact, as they put it, "they didn't have to hump 100 lbs. of gear up a mile high mountain". They were great people-mostly kids in their early 20's. Most of them had never seen a swamp before, so the Okefenokee fascinated them. One of them came in one afternoon and was telling me about the big gator he had seen. I asked him how big and he told me about 5 feet. I started laughing and told him that wasn't a big gator. He asked me what was. I told him that a good size gator was between 6 and 10 feet, but a big gator was anything over 10 feet. When I told him the swamp had some as large as 14-16 feet he got really pale and asked me what he should do if he saw one that big. I told him to climb a tree. :)
Take nothing for granted. Life can change irrevocably in a heartbeat.

I will not feed the troll-well, I will try.
