native clothing

why is it that these native clothing lines dont make decent work clothing? you know like sweaters or men's dress shirts with the emblem or whatever on the collar or nice blouses for us women to wear to work or clubbing or those special niners when we see that one snag.its always tshirts or sweatshirts or hats no thanks i want nice looking clothes that i feel good in not like i am gang banging or deck on the rez for a night of bingo. not saying your stuff aint good just asking a question

awwww man .... yall can't hear the music or see the moc.... i am very upset i worked sooooooo hard.... sorry, i will fix it, i still have a lot of work to do.

sup jibby .... yeah i finally made it to erez :Chatter i didn't make it to fdr ... it was so nasty out that weekend and i did this other powwow in the rain and my mocs got messed up bad .. the hide got really stiff, and my jingles stated lookin all funny....

now to the lady that wants some nice office native wear .... not to worry .... i will be working on that too ... hey there is no limit... and with the help of my sister jibby , i am seriously considering " native secrets" a lingerie line for us :Chatter ...
but i love dressing hip hoppish .. it is sooooo comfy and easy.

Why don't you do it yourself, girl? Everything you described is simply store bought with a little bit of appliqué or embroidery. There are designers out there who specialize in work/casual/semi-formal and even formal Native inspired gear but you nor I have the kind of money it would take to build a wordrobe out of the prices they cost.

I agree with pwchic49. There are already clothing companies out there that have similar lines ie. Native Threads, RezDog etc.

There needs to be an Skin-owned cloths line that caters to the business professional and night clubber (again pwchic49's suggestion).

I buy cloths all the time and would like nothing better than to give my business to an INDIAN OWNED clothing company.

I to agree business clothes would be great I spend so much time in the office or at confrences that I have to dress professional almost all the time and a Native line of office clothes would kick azz!!! Then I could spend my money where its deserved and not at some greedy corporation who make their clothing in sweat shops....:)

I'm hoppin' on the bandwagon too...., I think "classier" looking items would be ideal. You know what would be sweet? Running or athletic attire with a native graphic. I saw this black lycra running tight with a red Hawaiian graphic down both sides of the legs, it was sweeeeet looking.... Maybe something like that with a "big island" native graphic though...;). I'd purchase something along those lines....:).

hey ladies,

well .... let me start by saying ... urban wear is in my soul, however it will be more then just t shirts and sweats, it will be denim dresses , skirts and hides also... eventually as and if my business grows. i will be making form flattering garments for us women and also loose fitting garments.

i just figure start off with the easy stuff, i am working with really not that much money, so i have to keep it as simple as possible and keep cost down so i don't have to charge like these greedy big corporations.

i love party clothes too , and trust me that will be "work in progress" asap, but first things first ladies... i still haven't gotton my line up and running .. so lets see what happens and please wish me luck ;)

LOL My inner merchant's coming out. I use to vend bellydance costumes. Check out your local SBC to see if there are start-up programs that could help cut your cost.

Here's my idea..... I love urbanwear but what I don't like is body parts hanging out. I mean, I don't mind showing a lil cleavage but I'm not trying to show parts that only my gyn should see..... I'd like to see something spunky and funky for the chunky. Girl.... I would ADORE nice pant and dress suits with Native flair. Something form flattering for wide hips (rounded or flat) and/or a larger chest that with a small change in design or placement can look just as good for a tall thinner sista... I would almost (NOTE I SAID ALMOST) kill for a pair of jeans that doesn't show butt crack.
