Hi ya, As some people may know or may have heard me say..That I am hoping to Visit the PowWow's this year, Yeah, Yeah, I can hear the "Omg, Nooooooooo's Now.. hahahahahahaha, but that is if I can build and keep my courage up lol...What I would like to ask if I may, even though no doubt I am going to make myself sound stupid, even though thats not unusual for me!!! Is..What is the Difference Between "A Motel 6 and A Motel 8?? I do not trust the Internet as that I have learned the "Hard Way" can be wrong..Also I have heard good and bad about them..Ranging from Dirty Etc Etc, which I do not want to think that when I get into bed at night, I do not want to be sharing it with something "Creepy Crawly" lol...To other saying they are good motels..I plan to be heading down to AZ first then moving on from there maybe, as I have been looking at the PowWow Calender for Late August/Sept...Any help or advice on the Motels Above or Any Other Motels would be a great help..Thank You.

There is no difference between 6 and 8 in my opinion. You can only know so much about a place without going. Travelocity can get you good deals. You might even get an upgrade for the same price. When you are dead you don't know that you are dead. It is difficult only for the others. It is the same when you are stupid.

At Motel 6...they leave the light on for you.
Also, in September, check out the California casino powwows.
Why must I feel like that..why must I chase the cat?

Motel 6 is a real "budget" motel-translate that to cheapo. I know some that are good, and some I wouldn't leave a stray cat there. Read the reviews on TripAdvisor before booking a room anywhere. Also, be wary of using a third party website to book a room. If you need to make any changes in your reservation, you have to go through them-you can't call the motel because they can't alter your reservation in any way. They may, and probably will, also charge you a fee to make any changes. This will offset the good rate you can get. You will find coupon books at convenience stores and welcome centers along the interstate highways. Those will have the best rates available. Beware of any hidden fees-read the registration before signing it. Most motels here these days will have a in room safe, and you are charged for it whether you use it or not. You can request at check in to have this fee removed. How do I know all this? I'm a night auditor now, and have been in the hospitality business nearly all my life. :)Take nothing for granted. Life can change irrevocably in a heartbeat.
I will not feed the troll-well, I will try.

Motel 6 or Super 8
They are the same 2 star hotel
In my experience it depends where each are located in a town
I have had good experiences with both and bad with both.
I no longer book through the third party sites I have had too may bad experiences, and when we are traveling the time not to have an issue is when you arrived tired after a long day of driving and there is an issue. I call the hotel directly and have found they can usually give you a better deal.
I wonder though why Arizona?
Why not Oklahoma?
unless you like to drive a lot

Yep, there are some good ones and some bad, and there's no way to tell until you get there.
If you ever some to a powwow on the Wind River Rez, DO NOT stay in the Motel 6...it was the worst cockroach motel in town and then it became a Motel 6 recently.
You can search around and find a bargain hotel that's fairly nice, or you can stay at a chain that is always very nice, like the Marriotts, Hiltons, and most Best Westerns are good too....it is what it is...

I have the same as you heard good and bad as previously said, but it seems to alter from place to place..To be honest I was looking at PowWow Calender dates and saw some a good few together closely for end August beginning September...So I was intending to Go to their first then travel etc..But as stated I do not know where I am going to start off and finish, because I saw that when I first looked more have been added lol, and the Buffalo Preserve's seemed smaller ones Which to be honest I would prefer as even though they are all amazing from what I have seen on YouTube etc I feel the smaller crowds etc is more like me, if that makes sense lol....So I may just end up hiring the larger car, and just travelling and see where I end up lol, or just follow some cars that look like their going to a PowWow Rofl. Thanks for your help and advice:)Last edited by Siobhanni; 02-21-2014, 07:50 PM.

by momnotjonIt is with a heavy heart that I am telling you that the police department has been informed that protestors will be at the funeral for Hatak. The Patriot Guard will be there to shield the family from them but it is a sad thing that this is happening.

by jiimaanikweBoozhoo,
I have attended plenty of powwows in my day, but never had any insight into the inner workings. As my university has finally settled its racist mascot situation, I want to organize a giant powwow in the fall to kick a brand new start. I plan on contacting the American Indian Center...-

by bigskymtHi,
Just wondering if anyone has info on recipes for beef soup and frybread to feed 200-300 people at an outdoor powwow? My step-father passed and we would like to honor him with a feed but have never done this before. I would appreciate suggestions on recipes, ingredients, cooking times, equipment...-
